Ay on errythang Im from Richmond and im 31, I say hands down Oakland can always have 10 rappers ready new every 4 months, and a list of legends that no other town in america can compare to besides Richmond . San Francisco has been held down by Quinn and Mess since i was a teen and im 31 , the other rappers in tha city been good. those 2 guys tho r greats

You can't take away what Oakland Rappers brought to hip hop with Short Dog to Hammer Digital Underground, even with RNB act such as Tony Toni Tone and Keyshia Cole...Frisco's Filmoe was the Harlem of the West..back in the day...But fasho we gotta unite from SF/DA RICH/Pittsburgh/V-Town/Da Town...etc....

ok , but i never said those guys werent legends either , JT is the original underground hustla, all im sayin is theres a difference between local status and worldwide status, Andre Nickatina in my opinion is the new and only rapper tome that officially carries on Mac Dre torch in that category of rap , but Oakland , has been our soundtrack to life in movies and radio. From Boys In Tha Hood To Menace to Original Gangstas and so on where was city rappers during that era? Craftin and smashing the underground. Aint nothin wrong wit that but . Oakland was doin it on a major scale bro, 4 tay was major ,

U R Right its not 89, but in a Jay Z ran stage of Billionaires and game change. Too Short legends still live on. Look at Lil Jon Short put him on. Too Short also made appearances on BIG album before he died , 2PAC didnt really do that many songs wit city niggaz , but he did a few wit tha Dangerous Crew. Hold up. Too Short was the first Bay Artist that Jay had on his album.

One artist doing it big does not make that town better than another. If we are talking overall product, Too Short only had a few albums that were worth owning IMO. Frisco had a whole SLEW of artists that had jammin albums that I still play to this day. Other than Short, I dont own very many Oakland albums from the "Hay Days of the Bay"...most of my Bay collection is from Frisco, Vallejo, and Richmond. I always thought Oakland was the outkast of the Bay scene. Now, they are picking up steam, though.
