the whole east bay, marin, peninsula were 415..i think 415 split into 510 in 90 or 91....then in like 96 the 415 also split into 650......in like 97 the 510 was split to 925.....

BIGCHILL..ya boy dfresh is mos def from the bay area .....

lol fosho! i just never heard nobody rep or rap about the "510" untill the mid 90s till now mayne.i guess it took some time to settle in.

ive always liked the music coming out of the sco over the town but thats just my opinion....everyone has their own tastes....i just think the lyrical content from SF rappers is more intellectual and complex than Oakland on an overall basis....

my roots in the 707 gonna make me biased towards Vallejo rappers though overall....

Finally, it gets back to new rappers, like the thread started... Keep up OG's this thread is about new cats...

As far as new rappers the town has FAB, Clyde Carson, J Stalin, Kafani, Eddie Projex, Beeda Weeda, Balance

The city got Ya Boy, Sky Balla, Bailey, Boo Banga, Big Rich

Tha city kinda hurtin in the new cats area, the OG's been holdin it down fasho. In the town too. But as of right now, I'd have to give it to tha town.

Don't sleep on tha Rich tho. We got Erk tha Jerk, Nio Tha Gift (first rapper to ever perform in China), the Jacka (even tho he aint a new cat), Johnny Ca$h (RIP), we even had Master P and TRU reppin Rich City back in tha day

If we were talking about in history that would be Frisco Rappers no doubt. They've had way more legends then Oakland. I got love for Oakland rap too. Too short and Seagram were my favorites back in the 80's and 90's.
your trippin.

i didn't read the whole thread, but i've always been a fan of the vallejo crop of rappers...they've always seemed to have the most skill, especially per capita...

I think that its obvious that people are going to want their city to win this argument! Im from frisco, im biased, I think SF is the best off top! People from Oakland will feel the same way about the town. If youre from another area of the bay or anywhere then its personal preference straight up...My 2 cents is ive slapped all rappers from the bay and yes the town has a lot of old and new artists that are making moves and have made great music...but I just feel rappers from frisco the most and thats wassup!
