wahh wahh, this could be partially racism but surely has more to do with $$$. always look for alternate reasons....marketing. the kevin garnett black women are only one small market, and i guarantee not the most affluent. make the bitch mixed and she automatically appeals to at least two markets. money. plus little white girls will be able to identify with a light skinned person more, and its these white girls spendin daddys cash that bankroll "hip hop" these days.

It's not racism it's COLORISM!!

Anyone ever think it might have to do with camera and lighting?! Low budget music video directors might have a harder time catching the skin complexity of people who are dark in skin.

Also facial features stand out better in people of lighter skin color. I'm not a colorist

Yea it's true. It's always lighter skinned girls. And then you finally get some dark skinned ones and they look ugly (Fantasia).

I might be a victim. I don't conciously dislike dark skinned girls, but it just seems I meet more fine mixed girls than fine dark girls. It's prob just cuz there's more mixes so there's more chance. Then again I did see the finest dark skinned girl in macy's. I didnt notice until i was leaving tho, cuz she had braces and her face was just ok.

I think so for the most part. But not a lot of dark men are presented in a glorifying white way is more of a talent or athletic way.
Yea like Kings Of Comedy or Chris Rock... They're out spoken and loud. And it shouldn't have to be like that to get noticed or attention, but that's the way the media is being played out and they're building upon those stereotypes. Racism for the 2000 era

I noticed that too. The latino women I see kicking it with white women are light skinned. As if they are better than dark skinned latinas. It's racism. White mainstream media ingrained it in our heads.

I think it starts at an early age. And what you identify as beautiful. I remember when I was young people would say “she’s like a Barbie” and that would identify with blond and white. Black was presented to me a lot different then other people. Like nappy heads a lot of guys don’t like girls with nappy heads. I grew up with nappy headed females doing their hairs and I understood that their getting their hair done for a special occasion. So it was second nature to me. To a guy who’s not use to it, will see a nappy headed girl and say ill, she’s ugly, but to me she’s beautiful but didn’t do her hair today. Black is beautiful embrace it
