Ive filed Bankruptcy before..not really that big of a deal. I wouldnt do it for the debt amount you have. Do not creditors push you around. I used to get them really mad cause they would threaten me sayin " you know it will affect your credit etc" Id say yeah its cool i aint trippin..." You mean you dont care"....Not really. When they have no leverage they lose. Never sign or verbally agree to pay a certain amount. Just tell em you will send what you can when you can.....You could send them $1 a month and there is nothing they can do....even if they take you to court because it shows you are making an attempt to pay the debt.
Initially i used to be worried what they could do...until my business partner who owed hundreds of thousands had zero stress. They would come to the restaraunt and turn off the electricity at the breaker...he would put a giant screw driver in it, Gas company put a lock on the gas outside he would cut it off with bolt cutters...his response I cant pay them if the business is closed. Then he would say let's go to Bally's and then go get some Lobster tails....When he foreclosed on his big home....he bought a bigger one down the street in the same exclusive neighborhood. Damn the shit he got me into....at least i learned a grip of shit they just dont teach in business school.

so im thousands of dollars in debt because of bullshit hospital fees and i dont really have extra money to pay it

it hasnt been sent to a collections agency yet but it will soon

im just wonderin if anyone has any experience with not paying these things and i was wondering how it worked out

i heard they can start reposessing your shit after a certain amount of time but last time i didnt pay it nothing happened... the only difference is this time the bill is about 4 thousand dollars more

if i were to make payments it would take me at least 3 years to pay it unless something drastucally changes im my life so im really tryin to get around this

i tried to do the charity thing and they declined me then i tried to apply for medical but they declined me also so now im fucked

any insight is appreciated

if you owe hella money and you have assets then they can go after that.not the collection agency but the hospital.some hospitals sue, some dont.if you aint got nothin then they aint gonna do shit..............i used to do medical collections.........

ps.
your kinda a dick head so i hope they sue you but if you aint got no house or a new car then they probly aint fuckin with you........

yeah... dont declare bankruptcy over that amount... try to work something out possibly a payment plan.

Its easy if you live at home and your parents.. dont worry about these expenses. But if you are not healthy and shit like that, its good to keep a good standing with creditors... bekuz you never know when you need to reach out for extra cash and your credit would help out with loans.

Whn i filed bankruptcy I was getting credit card offers and loan approvals left and right. They feel safer because you can not file bankruptcy again for a long time.

there isn't many ways around not paying your bills despite what self proclaimed experts say. I am a certified licenced collections guy in all 50 states, believe what me and "i fucked your mom" are telling you we both work(ed) for collection agencies for years and know what we are talking about.

Work out a plan with the hospitals in house collections people because shit just gets much worse when it leaves there. Trust me they never stop, I worked some acient ass zombie paper cap 1 accounts that were bought and sold at least 4 times over and were like 10 years old. I was working 3000 dollar accounts that were originally like 5 bills tops.

Or you can not pay and see what happens to your life, eventually everyone is going to need credit at some point in their life and with shit like that on your record you either wont get it or your interest rate will be so high its hardly worth persuing. My parents had to do a ch13 back in 06 and now my mom is paying like 600 dollars a month on a 18k crystler seabring financed for 60 months! You can't get cosigners forever, eventually times will get tough and you get forced to default on one of those and you lose family trust and all that. I've seen it happen hundreds of times, most the time i know the whole story before i even talk to anybody.

Hospital accounts are different because a lot of the patients a hospital sees are never able to pay their bills, so they just end up writing them off.

I wouldn't trip off of it too much. But you should definitely apply for Medi-cal, its retroactive and would take care of this bill when you get accepted.

Hit me on the PM if you have any questions Montroller. I work in revenue cycle at a hospital.

i dont know about all of this but its complete bullshit what people get charged for a night in the hospital. the whole system of credit and debt just seems completely unfair for people who get into life and death situations and matters of health.

LOL @ this

WRONG

No one SELLS anything as far as hospitals and doctor's offices. One it goes to collections, it gets WORSE for YOU, the debtor...becuase now, there is INTEREST to pay. If you do not PAY, you will then get SUED...which means you go to court and they evaluate your belongings (house, car, land) and see what you can do to pay off your bill. They can also GARNISH your pay check, usually to the tune of 25% of what you make.

Pay your bill....there is no way to avoid it. Your FUCKED.
lol @ me be wrong when i actually did this. do u know how much it cost 2 sue somebody?
