These Graphs Show Where Pizza is the Cheapest and Most Expensive in the United States

When you think of pizza in the United States, you should only think about two places: New York and Chicago. Other cities will claim they have their own style of pizza, like Detroit, and others will say they have just as good pizza, but it's not true. But you'll probably find better prices elsewhere.

Priceonomics recently conducted a study of pizza prices around the country. And they went in-depth. They figured out which states have the cheapest and most expensive pizza. They figured out what cities have the cheapest and most expensive pizza. And they even figured out which states have the most pizza places per capita.

Here are some of their results.

Number of Restaurants Serving Pizza Per 100,000 Residents

Median Price of a Large Pizza in Every State From Most Expensive to Least

Cities With the Most Restaurants Serving Pizza Per 100,000 Residents

Top 10 Most Expensive Pizza Cities and the Top 10 Cheapest Pizza Cities

Orlando's definitely the big winner from this data. Not only does it have more pizza places per capita than anywhere else in America, but it also has the 10th cheapest prices as well. Now, this has to not include Disney World, because $9.00 would probably only get you one piece of pepperoni there. Also, a large pizza in Lexington, Kentucky costs only $5.99. That's a steal!

But as anyone who's lived in a city with good pizza will tell you, it's all about paying for quality, not quantity.
