Wassup,

I'm new to the whole production thing and I was looking for tips from the pros or anyone who has some knowlege. Most of my limited knowlege comes from forums like this and buzz words from music catalogs.. I bought my PC cuz I want to use it to make beats, I got a Dell 45-50 with a 60gig hard drive 2.56 GZ and 256 mgs of ram,in it I got a soundblaster audigy 2 sound card. I figure I need a 512 upgrade. I spent alot of my hard earned loot on the PC and it was the best thing I could get for my money, I just don't have the cash for a Sony Veio or a G4 you know.

Here are some of my questions..

What is a good Recording software that has quality yet user friendly enough for a noobie to learn with ease.

When doing the computer setup, what kind of external devices do you need to get going, I see alot of stuff thats MIDI affialiated which I have no clue what they are or what they do..can you just stick devices into my sound card or what??

Can I just get a mixer with all the deviced hooked to that then the mixer hooked to the sound card or is there special devices you need for that.

What is a good Keyboard that had tight sounds but not all those extra features that make them so expensive. Just a coo board with a versitality LFOs and shit like that.

Any little tip you can give me would be great, Thanks
