Doc Truth got it right. Being Filipino, my pops used to tell me to pinch my nose every day to try and make it pointy like white folks. I never did it even when I was a youngin' and I'm damn near 30. That's one thing Filipinos and Blacks have in common, flat ass noses. I can't hate on BET cause that's the business. Until we have true equality not just in the US but globally, this shit will happen no doubt. We can't forget that most black females still straighten they hair cause they want the "good hair". There are times when dark skin is in fashion and a few years later, breezies are into light skinned dudes. As minorities, this is where we gotta stick together and prevent any more animosity against each other. This ain't no, "Big ups to Minorities" and down with the "White Race". Just putting down that we're all the same and no one is better than another. Our differences are what makes us special not better.
No, the music/entertainment industry is a business. The only joke is the people who think it's some kind of service to the public. Business has only one obligation and interest which is to generate revenue. If putting a donkey in the front row created more appeal then you'd see a donkey in the front row... And only a fool would be suprised by it.
Nothing but the truth. If it dont make dollars it dont make sense....It doesnt matter what skin color you are. BET caters to everyone. They dont have much programs in their weekly schedule to fullfill everyones needs but every now and then I'll catch a Jazz show in the carribean, a couple times i caught a show with predominant latinos about the herritage of our music. BET is broadcast to millions of homes, its being watched by every race....
The music business has never been 'for the people'. It always has and always will be a business intended to generate profit. Nothing more, nothing less. If you think otherwise then it's you who is brainwashed. And unless your only exposure to music is on TRL and 106 & Park, there's plenty of good music out there.

Sad but true, but atleast then the artist they were paying to get played made QUALITY MUSIC. Now we are in the mist of true garbage that includes the Bay, LA, South and East Coast. Every keep making the same shit...the same wack shit. This is the reason Nas said Hip-Hop is dead. Hip-Hop WAS a music of the people now it is a tool by the corporate higer-ups to sale McDonolds, hoop shoes and pimped out automobiles. The shit is sad...atleast with Rock N Roll they took it away and black balled Black artist until it was in controle by white America...Hip-Hop on the other hand...Niggaz are just given that shit away like a hoe trying to impress her pimp by "goin hard" in the streets. You can't blame them for making a come up- that's the American way, but you can blame hip-hop for falling for the trap.
Damn near everybody who's post I've read on this topic has some idea of what's really going on. From the Willie Lynch comment to the the Pinoy potna to the moderator, I am relieved that this hasn't deteriorated into a bigger dick contest. Learn the system, know how to take advantage of it, or blow this shit up.
Bay Area, you all think yall getting screwed. BET's Spring Bling will be taping today in my backyard, and guess what? Most of the attendees will be shipped in from other parts of the country by their local radio stations, mostly infinity owned radio stations. Also, as you may already no, but probably dont care, no Bay acts are on the lineup. That just shows you what the "Industry" really thinks about you.
