QB -- Colin Kaepernick
(Still waiting for that Alex Smith signing; Scott Tolzien is the only other QB on the roster.)
RB -- Frank Gore
(Kendall Hunter is the change-of-pace back; and the 49ers continue to look for competition for Anthony Dixon.)
FB -- Bruce Miller
WR -- Michael Crabtree
WR -- Randy Moss
Slot -- Kyle Williams
(Team has already brought in Chaz Schilens and Brandon Lloyd for visits, and now they're showing some interest in free agents Laurent Robinson and Mario Manningham, according to Sac Bee and ESPN reports.)
TE -- Vernon Davis
(Delanie Walker remains with a vital role as the No. 2 tight end.)
LT -- Joe Staley
LG -- Mike Iupati
C -- Jonathan Goodwin
RG -- Daniel Kilgore
RT -- Anthony Davis
(Alex Boone is the top backup swing tackle; Adam Snyder is taking a free-agent visit to the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday; Leonard Davis, who could sign Wednesday as a free agent, would enter the mix with Daniel Kilgore at guard; and Mike Person and Chase Beeler fight it out to back up Goodwin.)

RDE -- Justin Smith
(Ricky Jean Francois, Will Tukuafu, Demarcus Dobbs and Ian Williams are the backups here.)
LOLB -- Ahmad Brooks
ILB -- Patrick Willis
ILB -- NaVorro Bowman
ROLB -- Aldon Smith
(Smith takes over for Parys Haralson as a starter, and the 49ers must determine if they want to bring back Haralson at his $2.75 million salary; Tavares Gooden is the backup on the inside with Larry Grant's future as a restricted fee agent yet to be determined.
LCB -- Carlos Rogers
RCB -- Tarell Brown
Third CB -- Chris Culliver
(Tramaine Brock fights for a backup role, along with long shots Curtis Holcomb and Perrish Cox; the 49ers gave veteran Shawntae Spencer permission to seek a trade, and his status has yet to be resolved.)
FS -- Dashon Goldson
SS -- Donte Whitner
(C.J. Spillman is signed to spearhead special teams while also filling role as a backup)

We need an upgrade at Right Guard and WR asap. As good as our defense is with this offense we will fall short again.
