Nickatina is a frisco cat who kind of keeps to himself... you don't really see him getting down with to many other bay cats, except folks already in his stable.. and perv-p style youngsters...
His music aint like most other bay area rappers n therefore wudnt go 2gether well with most other rappers in the bay.. Especially with his newer style- can't imagine him ona track with some rappers goin off about gettin hyphy or some thug/turf shit.

IMP, Equipto, Mac Dre.... he gets down with more than just "perv-p style youngsters"

n about the white fans that shit is true... never been to a whiter rap show than nickatina. if u ask most white kids who aint into rap much to name a bay rapper they'll probably name nicky cuz...

1) "Ayo."
2) He aint all up on some thug or hyphy shit- probably makes him easier for more white people to relate to, opens him up to people who aint into that, and makes him stand out in some ways.
3) he's always performin and unlike most rappers can put on a good show. by tourin all over u spread ur shit to new places and people who otherwise wudn't have otherwise. most of the people who go see live music are white so that spreads that way.
4) he's got TALENT.

n so on...

I personally don't like Nicky, cause you can hardly find a verse of him where he doesn't say "like". IMO when sbd says "like", he doesn't really know what to say. It's like a filler. "I'm fast like cheetah, dumb like dumb and dumber that is cold as ice..." - stuff like that.

When I listened to that new Nicky & Equipto cd I was like "damn, I didn't know that <like> could've been used so mant times on one track". Among other "like" type of rappers you may find white folks who have Nicky on their cds, like Savage C or V-Boy.

do u not know what metaphors are?
damn..
To be honest (I'm not trying to be rude or sth) I was taught that "like" is not a metaphor, but a comparison. In some cases comparisons are treated as metaphors though. However metaphors are sth deeper than "When I see cops I disappear like Copperfield". When rappers use "like" it's usually some cheap ass shit. However sometimes it's great, but rarely.

A figure of speech in which two essentially unlike things are compared, often in a phrase introduced by like or as, as in “How like the winter hath my absence been” or “So are you to my thoughts as food to life” (Shakespeare).

A figure of speech in which a word or phrase that ordinarily designates one thing is used to designate another, thus making an implicit comparison, as in “a sea of troubles” or “All the world's a stage” (Shakespeare).
One thing conceived as representing another; a symbol: “Hollywood has always been an irresistible, prefabricated metaphor for the crass, the materialistic, the shallow, and the craven” (Neal Gabler).

before you talk about white people like this black people like this... you have to define black and white people. becuase i know some black people that grew up in white areas and they like rock music. i mean you cant say BLACK PEOPLE like anything, black people are in all walks of life everywhere and into everything.

Yes, you helped me with that. Glad you posted it. English is not my native language, so I didn't know about the word "simile" in that context. Therefore when I said "comparison" I meant "simile". In my opinion Nickatina (on the songs that I heard) "similes" too much ;).
