So I have been listening to a lot of his work lately, all the way from back in the day with The Birthday Party all the way up to his Grindeman stuff, and everything in between.

There really isn't a album of his I don't like and they are all so different too. Right now I'd say Murder Ballads is my fav although it changes all the time. Where the Wild Roses Grow is such a good fucking song, it's almost like listening to a movie.

He is easily one of my favorite songwriters.

Anyone else on here a fan of his music/writing?

Nick Cave is awesome. I only have The Good Son, though :(

Which album(s) would you guys recommend?

You might like The Birthday Party Redstorm. It's Nick's band from the late 70's, early 80's. It's like Gothic Post Punk music. Really good stuff in my opinon.

Prayers on Fire and Junkyard are such good albums. You should check them out.

I can honestly say you can't go wrong with any of his albums. The only one that I think is only decent he did with the Bad Seeds is Nocturama. I'd say that one is average at bests, not bad but not good. Everything else he has done with the Bad Seeds is fucking amazing. For his work with them I'd get

Tender Prey
Your Funeral, My Trial
The Boatman's Call
Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus

With Grinderman they just have their Self Titled release that came out in March which should be in my honorable mention section of best albums 07 but I forgot. It's different then a lot of the stuff he has done but I like it quite a bit. Although I'm looking forward to him doing more work with The Bad Seeds, they haven't put out a album in three years now.

So far I've downloaded Tender Prey and it's good stuff. I really like the odd atmosphere Nick creates (on all his shit). I like the song Mercy a lot. Sunday Slave is cool too.

I also downloaded the soundtrack to The Proposition that he and Warren Ellis did, and it's really good too. I actually think I like that more than the Bad Seeds albums.

Unfortunatley I won't be able to download much more, as I'm in the process of moving right now.
