I JUST AINT WITH THE OLD "BLAME THE WHITE MAN" THEORY. THAT SHIT IS PURE GAYNESS AT ITS FINEST.

sorry for caps.
It's always interesting to me when people immediately jump to that ONE conclusion. As if there couldn't be 60 other reasons for this change.

Using the word "ban" only fuels that reasoning though

After what David Stern did in the NBA, whenever a league takes a step in the conformist direction there are always going to be comparisons.

I know for a fact Stern's decision about the dress code was made to help widen the NBA audience. Some looked at it as racist considering who was impacted but it was a business decision. Business decisions at that level are based strictly on data.

I never understood why more players didnt yank on long ass hair to take those fools down..if they got pulled down by their hair more often they'd do something about it believe me

yeah but that directly targeted certain people because of what he was trying to eliminate, the "thug" element.....and its not like there's hella people in the nba like that, its mainly just Allen Iverson....lol........they should just call it the AI Code

That's the business world for ya. Sometimes companies make decisions to downsize, you think they give a fuck who gets the axe? No, they need to do what they feel is best for the business.

It's never personal, it's just business...

remember they dont want a shaved head or anything. they just want it short enough so u can see the last name on the back of the jersey. so this really only effects like 3 ppl in the nfl that i've noticed. and i only know one of there names and that troy. theres that one guy from the niners i beleive that looks like a human lion and it's just ridiculous.

This shit isn't correct, I wouldn't say it was racist though. If people want to have their hair out in the open like that, let 'em!
Who wants to see someone's neck get snapped during a kickoff or punt cause his hair is waaaaaaaaay too long. I know I don't...

Yeah it only impacts like 3 dudes but I think it's a good thing that they make a decision like this before something horrible happens.

the NFL & NBA have to keep their "players" from lookin too inner-city Black. Its clear as day. THey know that a lot of white folks from the more racially seperated parts of the nation dont wanna c that or have their lil sons and daughters lookin up to guys that have hair styles like those they villanize on pure prejudice

cmon lets run down some of the more recent shit that these leagues have cracked down on..

1. Restricted certain apparel. Basically remember how AI and all those cats ushered in a new street style, that got too street for the NBA

2. Prevented players from putting out Rap CDs

3. Cut the dreads off

i mean damn thats some culturally isolated cant-do's.

in highschool they do the same shit with the jacket blazers n shit, i had to do it in my aschool and if it was a road game we would wear our track suits. so that aint that big of a deal.

i dont remember anyone preventing the rapcd's or dreads. there are a few ppl in the NBA that has dreads and a shitload of people who have em in the NFL. and remember it's not the NFL it's the commitee they got thats usually ran by coaches. and they're not just tryin to ban the shit they gonna send out a request for each team. none of this shit's racial at all. they just want there players to look nice in the NBA thats all. i dont think they would wear street shit to a wedding or anything. it's not a big deal at all

Damn! Feel bad for Troy if this ban is really enforced! Honestly tho, I dont think Troy will leave tha League if they enforce this.. I mean.. he can always go wit tha traditional Polynesian braids.. two of em down tha side and let tha two braids bang or tuck em in to his pads! Eitha way.. I know theres plenty of up-and-coming Polynesians wit bangin ass hair das on they way to tha NFL so its gon be sumthin to see if this shit goes thru!..
shiiit.. my crop bang down to tha top of my ass and i`d hate to have to kutt it to adjust some rule at tha work site! jus like when i applied at a Chevron`s Lube Tech spot and almost got tha job.. they said they dont allow long hair.. I asked them kould I slide and put it in a bun.. they told me to take it down so they can have a look.. I did.. they said no.. and Im still job`huntin! LMAO!
COE!
culture over everythang!

^^^yeah i personally dont care if it happens or not. i mean there really hasnt been anything bad come from it and it's the players choice if he wants to get his head snapped off or not, IMO the NFL should stop playing daddy to these players and let them make there own decisions on how they wear there hair. i did however understand the dress code in the NBA thats not liek this at all.

The problem with that is when something unfortunate does happen, the family of that player is going to wonder why the league allowed it to happen. Then a change will be made so that it never happens again.

Why not be preemptive here? It's not hurting anybody to enforce a rule that removes one extra danger from an already dangerous sport.

yeah cause there are no black people in the front offices huh sol?
DUTCH YOU THE HOMIE BUT GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE WITH THIS SHIT.

YEAH I SAID "RICH WHITE ASSHOLES" CUZ THAT'S WHAT THE MAJORITY OF THE NFL FRONT OFFICE IS. AND FOR THE RECORD, I'M HALF WHITE.. SO GET OVER IT, MY FRIEND. I'M FAR FROM THE LIBERAL CONSTANTLY TRYN TO BE POLTICALLY CORRECT TYPE. THIS RULE JUST STRIKES ME AS A FORM OF TRYN TO CONTROL PLAYERS OF CERTAIN RACES, WHICH BY DEFINITION IS RACISM. SURE... THERE ARE SOME WHITE PLAYERS IN THE NFL WITH LONG HAIR. DON'T PLAY DUMB TO THE FACT THAT THE MAJORITY OF PLAYERS WITH LONG HAIR ARE BLACK OR SOMETHIN ELSE BRUH. WHO DO YOU THINK THIS RULE WILL AFFECT MOST?

I'M GONNA CHALK THIS ONE AS YOU JUST READIN A LITTLE TOO FAR INTO WHAT I SAID. WE CAN AGREE TO DISAGREE. I KNOW YOU ARE LIKE A WATCH DOG FOR WHITE RIGHTS AND WHITE RAPPERS IN GENERAL BRO SO I SHOULD HAVE EXPECTED AS MUCH. LOL.

AND JUST TO BE CLEAR I DON'T CARE WHO AGREES OR DISAGREES WITH ME, WHITE OR BLACK. THIS IS MY OPINION.

it's true and like i said if it does happen i can see why they change it, but it's a risk they face. it's a dangerous sport and the player with the long hair should be doing it for himself in that case so he's confident he wont go down that way. i mean it should be a personal choice. maybe they should change it to 2 hand touch since it would be less dangerous if thats the case
