And that is my beef with the Falcons. In a way, I can understand it. But they pass on true #1's and give up a 1st round pick and #1 money to a guy like Peerless Price. They can word contracts so that these 'questionable" WR's can be cut with minimal cap implications. Moss and To wanted to go on the Falcons. NE got moss for what a 4th round pick? Yet we have spent TWO the past couple years on WR's who cant catch? T.O. catches more TD passes with an injured hand. I know he dropped alot of passes but he bypassed surgery and still led the league in TD catches. Sometimes you have to balance character AND talent. We might have good character WR's, but they cant catch a damn cold. They play DB better than they play WR.

IMO, it starts with Rich McKay. Why do teams that had double digit wins have 30 mil in cap space at the beginning of the off season? No, he just gives John "I get a hang nail and miss 10 games" Abraham a huge signing bonus to ride pine.

Its just annoying.
i feel that 110 % peerless price was never a number 1 receiver.

the "falcon filter" as blank and mckay call it is total bullshit. but hopefully we can get 10 games out of abraham this year, if so its gonna open up the door for anderson to shine. from what i hear about petrino hes a hard ass and the complete opposite of mora who was afraid to confront players and played favorites, and was a pushover.

You know what though......I think Mora could have succeeded in ATL. He just needed to get rid of Knapp and Donatell. Donatell should have been out of the league after that 4th and 26 play a few years back.

The Falcon filter IS some BS. As a fan, I could care less what Vick or anyone else does in their own time as long as it doesn't affect their availability on game day. TO is a malcontent, but he shows up on game day. No one can say he doesn't have heart. he might not be the best team guy, but i cant fault him for who he is.

Instead we get "high character" guys who cant play for shit.

wow its wierd having someone on here who actually knows jack shit about the falcons. i agree, i thought mora would have saved his job had he got rid of knapp and donatell before the 06 season. i dont think their game plan was as bad as their lack of adjustment when said gameplan failed. on defense the gameplan failed because we couldnt get a pass rush due to the RIDICULOUS amount of injuries so the bend dont break defense got broke all the time. on offense knapp was hella predictable (1st down run dunn up the middle, 2nd down run dunn up the middle, 3rd down obvious passing down) and was hella simple to stop. the receivers couldnt get separation or catch so no secondary took them seriously so they had an extra guy to rush the passer with an offensive line rich mckay himself stated was not built to pass block. vick was being asked to use his legs to negate the lack of a pass blocking line and you see what happened. almost 50 sacks last year again. and when he wasnt sacked his receivers were dropping EASY passes which all happened to be for touchdowns or 3rd downs to keep the drives alive. and vick gets all the blame. dont get me wrong theres only 2 or 3 qbs in the league who couldnt improve on their accuracy but for once that was not a big issue with vick. he made better decisions in the pocket last year and musgrave helped him improve his accuracy. and im 110 percent with you on moss and t.o. Both those guys practically begged to come to atlanta and no deal. WTF

moras biggest problem was he was just a nice guy and was too loyal to guys like allen rossum, knapp, and especially jason webster. jimmy williams never got a shot last year until our season was practically over and he played with more heart than rossum and webster combined.

theres no reason we shouldnt win the south this year if we can avoid injury. if abe stays healthy it should be an easy playoff berth. if not its gonna be a struggle. hes the biggest x factor. along with rod coleman and his injury.

That lies in your front office (I don't have to tell you guys that, obviously).. The Niners have "high character" guys who come out and play. They passed on plenty of players I wished they would have picked up, because Mike Nolan is a big character guy. They just happened to choose a bunch of guys with good character who can also play some football.

you got whats lookin like a good coach in nolan. falcons and niners renew the old nfc west rivalry this year. should be a good game.

Oh it definitely starts in the front office. Blank is RETARDED for giving Vick that contract. I can see why, but I thought it was ill advised. Rich McKay has definately been hit and miss with drafts and free agents. John Abraham was a bad move. i remember him on the Jets. "Mr I dont want to play in a playoff game so I dont hurt my offseason chances of getting a contract". I think he has played ONE 16 game season. And I dont even have to mention price or jenkins or white. WASTE OF MONEY AND DRAFT PICKS! You brought up the Niners, it seems like our guys have a sense of entitlement. I'm a first round pick so I belong here. While other guys on other teams come to play.

If Vick doesnt show up in the next two years...get rid of him. This year, IMO is a gimmee since he has ANOTHEr coaching change. But after that.......

another boneheaded move by blank was overriding mckay on the choice of mora to take the falcons job. mckay wanted lovie smith but blank overrode that shit based on a flashy presentation by mora and his "plan" for vick. badd mooove. hopefully he takes more of a backseat from here on out and lets the football guys handle the football stuff.

i agree about abraham and hopefully if the trend continues he'll be healthy this year. hes good to go every other year it seems like but its hard telling, hes built of glass it seems. but when hes healthy theres not many more dangerous than him. definitely top 3 at full health.

I dont know......I mean hindsight is 20/20. Even with Lovie Smith, if you have McKay making boneheaded drafts and free agent signings and mcKay overriding shit, he might not have succeeded either.

The Bears play in a horrible division. They can win 6 games right there. Then the NFC as a whole isnt that strong. I would still take Smith over Mora, but.....I think you get what i am saying. Look at Gruden. Wins the Super Bowl in his first year with McKay's and Dungy's players, then has sucked since. IMO, it comes more from the players than the coach.

well either way mora is gone and it sounds like there will be accountability in atlanta and open competition for positions. will you be going to any games this year rb20?

no team in the history of the nfc south has had consecutive winning seasons.

also the last place team has finished as the division winner the next year every year so far.

interesting trend for sure. will it continue?
and the trend continues on for another year.

no, whoever finishes 4th ALWAYS wins the division next year, go back and check. until next year. atlanta aint doin it next year unless vick gets that drug counseling program that lets him out a year early. then goodell would have to approve him coming back, then blank would have to welcome him back to the team. not gonna happen. if he gets into the program though he would be out somewhere around the beginning of the season. i personally think hes going to do all his time but its possible.

Falcons might hire Mike Singletary as their next headcoach. He was almost hired for this season. They definitely need a QB though.

i thought he was gonna get it last year. petrino was kind of an out of the blue pick nobody gave a thought to. i was sure it was gonna be whisenhunt or singletary. i wouldnt mind having him as the coach.

^ panthers were off to a HOT start in the beginning... 3-1 with delhomme very efficient. He was actually 8tds to 1 int in the season till he fucked his elbow up(was on my fantasy team)... Which then brought the whole offense down cuz the rest of the qbs sucked dick for carolina.
