no team in the history of the nfc south has had consecutive winning seasons.

also the last place team has finished as the division winner the next year every year so far.

interesting trend for sure. will it continue?

never knew about that trend. but it is very interesting.

however, i don't think it'll continue. the way i see it, it will go:

1. new orleans
2. carolina
3. atlanta
4. tampa bay
this is how i have it (with homervision on) lol

1.atlanta
2.tampa bay
3.new orleans
4.carolina

without homervision lol (you be the judge)

1.atlanta
2.tampa bay
3.carolina
4.new orleans

dont sleep on tampa!!! and dont give n.o. the nfc south crown yet. we too had a new coach that took us to the nfc championship game in his first season but ended up 15-17 over the next 2 seasons missing the playoffs. (ok this is a little bit of wishful thinking but ....) lol

the nfc south is by far the most unpredictable division in football. one thing im certain of is N.O. WILL NOT WIN THE NFC SOUTH. you guys know my record with predictions so dont lol too loud. lol

^whoa... you got the Saints placing last coming off of that championship appearance? It's always a battle in the NFC South.

hey, the south is unpredictable like that. how did tampa finish last season? 4-12? they were division champs the year before. its like that. everyone overlooked the saints last year. this year theyre gunning for them. their 10-6 record could have easily been 8-8 or 7-9. they played a lot of close games and luck was on their side last year with all the katrina sympathies. lets see how the weight of expectations affect them.

Saints will be a better team this year than last. That might not be reflected in their record though.

I think the Saints or Panthers will take the division this year and that is coming from a Falcons fan. I stopped getting my hopes up. EVERY year I read how Vick is a student of the game. Playing really well in practice. But none of that shit happens when the season starts. The Saints played on house money last year and I agree with whomever said it, lets see how they do with expectations. Carolina is so flip floppy, yuo can never tell yet "experts" pick them to represent the NFC EVERy year.

the panthers are known as the paper champs. last year vick finally showed vast improvement (with the help of musgrave) but the other players around him didnt step up. every year though its the same thing, he's working harder than ever bla bla bla, this is the year for him to show it. after last years progression and the removal of that horrid coaching staff i think it should be a great year for the falcons though. anyone who watches them knows the defense, injuries and coaching staff let us down more times than vick. lets just hope the new blocking scheme gives him time to throw the ball because when he has time to throw he is deadly. too bad there werent any top tier wr free agents this year we could use another. that area is definitely the shakiest on the team still. finneran blew his knee out again and our #1 receiver is old and coming off two injury riddled seasons with 2 first round busts and a 3 round division 2 rookie to back him up. not good for a qb that isnt the most accurate in the league. we will see though!!!

And that is my beef with the Falcons. In a way, I can understand it. But they pass on true #1's and give up a 1st round pick and #1 money to a guy like Peerless Price. They can word contracts so that these 'questionable" WR's can be cut with minimal cap implications. Moss and To wanted to go on the Falcons. NE got moss for what a 4th round pick? Yet we have spent TWO the past couple years on WR's who cant catch? T.O. catches more TD passes with an injured hand. I know he dropped alot of passes but he bypassed surgery and still led the league in TD catches. Sometimes you have to balance character AND talent. We might have good character WR's, but they cant catch a damn cold. They play DB better than they play WR.

IMO, it starts with Rich McKay. Why do teams that had double digit wins have 30 mil in cap space at the beginning of the off season? No, he just gives John "I get a hang nail and miss 10 games" Abraham a huge signing bonus to ride pine.

Its just annoying.
