RIAA cracking down on rap?
In hot news from the wire today, it's now being rumored that the RIAA's cracking down on music-sharing internet users is actually a ploy to secretly destroy rap music.
"For years the recording industry executives have hated rap and they've been constantly trying to find ways to finally remove it from the mainstream", says John Jenkins of Howard University's music department. "At first it started back in the 80's when they made it mandatory to have Parental Advisory stickers on all offensive music CDs", he says.
Apparently, most of the lawsuits that have been filed against music swapping internet users are of those involving rap music and other urban styles. Some of the lawsuits are against other forms of music, but many believe that it's just a way of throwing people off track.
"I knew them niggaz been up to some shit from day one, naw'msayin? That shit is just foul and we all know that Hip-Hop is alive and well and here to stay", said an unnamed beatmaker from right here at IllMuzik. Stay tuned for more updates on this story as it progresses.
