I'm half mexican half white, and my girlfriend is like 1/3 black, so I'm far from racist. But I'm just curious. I agree with you 707. I see it as being hypocritical. Take the movie White Chicks for example. It was funny, I saw it. But if 2 white guys decided they wanted to do Black Chicks, they would get a call from Jesse Jackson and would be considered racists. Same thing with Chappelle's show. It's one of my favorite shows, and he does do a good job of making fun of everybody. But if a white guy did that show, he would be a racist. It just doesn't seem right to me.
I find myself lucky enough to be in a circle of friends with the same viewpoints as me, so I can make fun of everybody freely, without of course taking it over the line. I realize that Africans were once enslaved and that black people still aren't seen as complete equals in some parts of the country, but come on. This is California, and the Bay Area at that. One of the most diverse places in the country, if not the world. We shouldn't have to be seperated from each other like that. Of course I want complete equality, but it wont happen if racial groups keep seperating themselves from the others.
Maybe I'm just young.
