^^Lupe's last album has sold 507,632 since it was released on December 18th 2007. Almost a year has gone by, and he's barley over 500,000. For someone as good as Lupe that is outta pocket, and IMO it's the fans fault. Ppl act like they dont wanna hear what Lupe has to say, they just wanna hear about guns and drugs and money.

dumb ass kids wanna hear about guns and drugs but most of them don't buy albums.....and going gold nowadays is pretty big for relatively new artists like lupe...i think he's building himself a strong following/audience

I'm sick of this shit foreal. Ya'll clown Rick Ross for being a fake dope king pin but it's ok for Ya boy and all these other fake ass serial killers to brag about shooting people and other self destructive behavior? Why? Because he's from the Bay? That shit is WACK.

I remember Lupe Fiasco used to rap about that stupid ass shit, then he woke up and realized niggas will end up trying you in the streets one day. So he became a back pack skateboard rapper.
i feel you.. i've been a fan of ya boy from the getgo.. but the gun clappin' sh*t gets repetitive after a while

the realest thing i've heard from ya boy lately is "recession".. at least he's somewhat keepin it treal in that track.. and that is all something we can relate to (trying to survive during hard times)

---

as far as lupe goes.. that dude is on another level (lyrically) than most cats.. listen to his track "switch" and you will understand.. a lot of his stuff goes over a dumb n*ggas head.. sometimes i'll listen to his tracks 4 or 5 times and find something new everytime

If you have Plies pacing Nas and Ice Cube on weekly sales, there's a problem. Why buy a Ya Boy album when the certified Gold albums of Plies and Soulja Boy are right next to Kush 2001? (Please note sarcasm!) Ya Boy got flows, but if he comes out with 50 mixtapes a year, that's 1 a week. 90% of the content will be the same. We live in 2008, we have short attention spans. If a song doesn't have a dance, or if it talks about the same shit in the same cadence, then yah, it'll suck big donkey nuts.

I realized something while writing this post. Ya Boy is doing it like Cham is, similar approaches. Except Cham is making waves in the industry, Ya Boy only making ripples in the bay.

^^^Ya Boy only making ripples in the BAY? Dude you need to do some research. Ya Boy has a backing that stretches accross the Atlantic Ocean all the way to the UK...Ya Boy has a European fan club! YB is doing way more than just the typical local Bay nigga. Way more than ripples bruh. For somebody that hasn't dropped a major album, he's making more noise than cats that have been on for years. He has the right connections, he's known in basically every hiphop circle....Soon will see what's really good when he announces who he's signing with. Yall will see that he's making more than ripples.
