hella late but...
They are important to me because the one thing I fear in putting out projects that are strictly regional (ie; BAY AREA BLOCK STARS). Thats why I've retooled it to include national artists -- and I do notice that Explosive does have that expanded scope as well. But in the end, it's not just the scope of your vision, it's also the quality of your writing - i can't stress enough how much i hate poorly written articles - and relationships that allow your sphere of influence as a magazine to grow. I picked those 5 b/c they are all VERY influential in the hip-hop world. (i've heard publicists call murder dog a whore, but they rep for the underground) thats no affront to explosive, just my opinion. I also like FEDS & Don Diva b/c they cover shit other than just trhe plain rap shit.

to build on that I know the ppl who run ruckus and who run xxplosive and in no way is this a diss to anyone but the Bay Areaq market as I see it is too fucking small to have a magazine dedicated to it. Ozone is RUNNING the south right now b/c they cover the whole south - not atlanta, not miami - but errything. we need a magazine that covers the WHOLE WEST COAST - from portland to SD.

being regional wont get you anywhere, but thats just my opinion.
