i guess when artists get older and their beats aren't the same exact sound 10 years ago people ain't feelin it no more. i mean every frisco rapper was tight "back in the day" to all u ppl it seems. yall wonder why no one blowin up its cause we dont even feel our own shit. everybody just picks their favorites and make no progress.

I'm not attacking what you said at all Nick, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm speaking to the entire board if anyone really cares...

I feel ya, ChewDogg. I haven't heard Baldhead Ric's new CD yet, but I know what you mean about people wanting stuff to stay the same. Black C. of RBL said on a post not too long ago (where several people praised HOSTILE TAKEOVER, myself included) that people have to accept that the 1992-96 era is OVER. I don't have too big of a problem adjusting to new sounds, as long as the music has SOMETHING that I can "focus" in on, whether it's the bass, drum track, a weird sound in the background, etc. As long as there's something interesting going on musically, and the lyrics sound like some effort's been put into them, I'm good to go.

Still, though, we're all entitled to our opinions, because opinions are like assholes: everyone has them. LOL!

BTW--R.I.P. to Johnny Cash (one of the realest, period) and John Ritter (a funny guy who deserved a longer life)

PEACE!

sometimes these new sounds are not the way to go, or these sounds are not used the right way. why can't nobody judge for themselves when they making their shit. is everybody just rushing to get their shit out, oh shit i got an album every year and each one is worser than the last, so what i have ten albums now, so buy my new double album . anyone know what quality is? sometimes its better to use some vintage sounds. anyone heard of a rhodes, that is like my favorite instrument. alot of shit from the 70's still sounds cool and way ahead of the times, alot of shit today sounds like shit and will fade out with the times, yall got to look at it this way. when some muthafuckin alien comes invading us what they gonna go for the newest shit or the shit that sounds right to them.

right on i agree, that era is over, but at the same time artists have to accept the fact that buyers, enthusiasts, fans whatever u wanna call us, dont have to like subpar shit.

the 90's are over, so that means we should jock music that sucks and tries to sound like a "hit"

i dont give a fuck if anyone from the bay or cali blows up, because if it takes making horrilbe music theres no point.

No, if it's wack, it's wack. I'm not saying we should jock something that's wack. I'm just saying that a lot of folks are so hung up on the '92/'96 era that a lot of times, they won't even give something a chance if the music sounds the slightest bit different from what they "know" or what they're "used to." The main thing I look for is effort...you can often feel a vibe and it's easy to tell when an artist's "into" what he's doing or not...

PEACE!
