Hoodstars.net: So you’re signed to G-Unit… Can you tell a little bit about how the deal got sealed?
40 Glocc: I’m signed to Infamous/G-Unit. I’ve been with Infamous for a long time now. That’s basically how that happened. Once we got with 50 [Cent], 50 made it official for us.
Hoodstars.net: Who have you been working with since you signed to Infamous/G-Unit?
40 Glocc: I’ve been working with G-Unit.
Hoodstars.net: Will we hear you on any G-Unit release anytime soon?
40 Glocc: Yeah, you’ll see me most likely on [Mobb Deep’s] Blood Money. You’ll see me with Mobb touring.
Hoodstars.net: On your album The Jakal you had a beat from Dr. Dre. Now that you’re signed with G-Unit can we expect more collaborations with Dr. Dre in the future?
40 Glocc: Most definitely! Hell yeah!
Hoodstars.net: Have you worked with him already?
40 Glocc: Yeah he was on my Jakal album.
Hoodstars.net: I mean since you signed to G-Unit.
40 Glocc: Nah… we’ve travelled so much. We’ve been on the road constantly, working on that album. We don’t really have time for anything. All we do is really concentrating on Mobb Deep’s album. They’re working on the whole project.
Hoodstars.net: Like you said, you’ve been touring a lot. Last year you came to Europe. I think that was your first big international tour, wasn’t it?
40 Glocc: Yeah, it was. It was actually the first time I went overseas. That was a real good experience for me. I got to thank 50 for that. I thank Mobb Deep for that. That was a real real good experience.
Hoodstars.net: I remember when I saw you in Rotterdam you were wearing one of those ‘Game Over’ t-shirts. Was wearing that t-shirt a sign that you’re basically saying “Fuck Game” and you’re siding with 50 Cent. Or was it more like you were wearing that shirt because you had to wear it?
40 Glocc: Nah, that shirt was me saying “Fuck Game”. It’s a message from me to him. Fuck Game. It’s the thing on my mind and this is what I’m riding with. This is how I eat. This is what I do. He has no respect for my plate and how I eat. It’s “Fuck you!” If you’re fucking with *****z that’s on my team it’s “Fuck you!” That’s how I get down. That’s really a code of the streets. It’s just like that. It ain’t no dickrider shit. It ain’t nothing like that. 50 is a good *****, man. So hell yeah I fuck with 50! Basically it’s with my homeboys I fuck with, I fuck with 50 like that. You’re fucking with my homeboys and my homeboys say “fuck you”, I’ma say “fuck you” too. So you’re fucking with 50, me and my homeboys say “fuck you” too. You’re fucking with Mobb Deep, me and my homeboys say “fuck you” too and that’s how we get down.
Hoodstars.net: So you wouldn’t work at all with someone that has beef with 50?
40 Glocc: Hell no! Nope!
Hoodstars.net: Recently you dropped that Tsunami Volume 1 mixtape with The Riflemen. What’s next for you with the Riflemen?
40 Glocc: Everybody chilling. Me and Kurupt were together last night [January 17th, 2006]. Everything is good. Everybody chilling, we still work with each other. Everybody fucking around. Everybody just doing they thing right now.
Hoodstars.net: Can we expect another release of The Riflemen?
40 Glocc: You’ll see different songs from The Riflemen popping up everywhere. That won’t ever die out. The Riflemen are all street *****z and that’s what all of us represent. We represent the streets. Even though we’re not together we’re still together basically. It’s just everybody doing they thing, ya know?
Hoodstars.net: Daz and Kurupt reunited last year. You’ve been beefing with Daz for quite a while too. What’s your relationship with Daz right now?
40 Glocc: I haven’t talked to Daz or haven’t seen Daz, but I talk to Snoop. It is what it is, everything is everything. I ain’t lying around with my pistol looking for him no more trying to shoot him. I’m just doing me. He doing what he do, I’m doing what I do. Ain’t no more records or nothing like that coming out about him. He just doing him, I’m doing me. As far as that I haven’t talked to him and never had any communication or nothing like that. Me being a man… that’s how you handle stuff. You conversate and talk, but haven’t did none of that, but who knows maybe we’ll do in the future.
Hoodstars.net: In Rotterdam you told me Zoo Babies also signed to Infamous Mobb/G-Unit…
40 Glocc: Yeah, the Zoo Babies is with Infamous. They with us. They’ve been in the streets doing what they do in the streets with they music.
Hoodstars.net: What’s the current situation of your group Game Bangaz?
40 Glocc: Oh Game Bangaz! That’s with my homies Michelob, Spice 1 and [Rappin] 4Tay. We all *****z we fuck with. All the different groups that you’re bringing up… that shit ain’t never dying because we close like that. It’s all good. Spice 1 doing his thing. 4Tay doing his thing. Michelob definitely doing his thing. Michelob coming up. Everybody doing they solos [careers]. Michelob building around heavy right now, so you’re gonna see a lot of Michelob!
Hoodstars.net: Will we ever hear another Zoo Crew release?
40 Glocc: I don’t know. The Zoo Crew shit… I was the youngest lil homie from the game. That was really like gang banging by me and my homeboys. I was the little ***** in that group and they gave me the opportunity to be with them and do my thing. That’s the reason why I am where I am today. As far as Zoo Crew: we still all together. That ain’t never gonna die! That’s something that’s gonna last for eternal, but as far as the group Zoo Crew I don’t think there will be another release, but you’ll see all the homies from the Zoo Crew with me from time to time. You’ll always see them with me. You’ll always see us moving around. You’ll even see them right before me with a show. As far as the [group] Zoo Crew, that’s a wrap.
Hoodstars.net: You’re not one of those people that’s turning his back on his people that he worked with before he got a big deal.
40 Glocc: Exactly. I’m too street for that. You can catch 40 Glocc in the streets with his gun ready to shoot yo ass if you disrespect me. I’m still the same *****. That record deal shit don’t change me. Fuck no.
Hoodstars.net: What are some artists you’d like to work with in the future? 40 Glocc: The people that I’m with right now. G-Unit, Infamous. Havoc, Prodigy, 50 Cent, Banks, Buck. That’s it! That’s all I can say. That’s who I love to work with in the future.
Hoodstars.net: Alright, so…
40 Glocc: (interrupting) Wait! Wait! Wait! I wanna do something with that bitch Gwen Stefani. I’d like to get Ciara in my studio and work with her and see if we can work something out. (laughs)
Hoodstars.net: Any other models you’d like to work with?
40 Glocc: I would like to work with any female artist in the game. There’s a lot of female artists out there that I would like to see. I love women. To all the women out there: I love ya’ll! Women are beautiful. So I would like to work with a looooooooot of women.
Hoodstars.net: What music do you have in your cd changer right now?
40 Glocc: I got Get Rich Or Die Tryin’. That Mobb Deep, Americaz Nightmare. I got Banks up in here. I got Buck’s and DJ Whoo Kid’s cd. I got that M.O.P. cd up in here too.
Hoodstars.net: Do you listen to other genres than rap?
40 Glocc: I listen to different music. It’s gotta be tight though. It’s gotta be something that my ear likes. It might catch me when I got the radio on or something and a song turns on and I like the beat and I like how it sounds I listen to it.
Hoodstars.net: What do you think about the current state of west coast rap right now?
40 Glocc: Motherfuckers over on the west coast act like they doing… to me, this is my opinion and I tip it to any west coast *****. I’m saying this right now so west coast *****z can pick this shit up and read it and really get what I’m talking about. To me, *****z over here act like they doing so god damn much, but they ain’t doing shit! They act like they doing this and putting this out and his personal signing to their labels selling shit out the trunk and they only got 50 cd’s that they sell out the trunk. They working on an album that they been working on for two fucking years. They not active enough. They not moving enough. *****z gotta get on they ass and really grind! They just got to do it! Everybody gotta work, everybody gotta be on top of they A-game. The industry is like a league. Whether it’s a league of basketball or football or whatever… You gotta step up! You gotta play the game! You gotta be good at it. Other than that it’s ‘west coast to the fullest till the wheels fall off’! This is where I’m from and this is what I love with my heart. I’m praying for this shit. I love the west coast and it’s West Coast Till The Wheels Fall Off.
