Watup siccness, my camp is looking for an in-house audio engineer that is willing to mix/master our songs/projects because they like what we doing and can work with our budget. If possible we looking for an engineer that would be willing to provide their service and get breaded after a project drops because our funds right now are minimal. We can also trade graphic design service (nice myspace layouts, mixtape/album covers, etc.) as well as some production for engineering. Right now we are backed by a great group of in-house producers, and all that we are really missing is a light-weight decent engineer that is willing to work with some artists on a low budget. If you not feeling our music, its all good, but I think we got the talent, sound, and freshness the bay is looking for right now, especially my patnah Link. Get at me if anyone is interested in working with us right now, we'd appreciate it. If you want any samples of music we doing check out the myspace:

www.myspace.com/officiallillink

please keep in mind some of the songs are old and rough in quality, but it'll give you an idea of what you working with. if you are interested at all i can send you current projects we are working on that arent posted anywhere. our main producer has his foot in with mogul media ent and kaz kyzah (he been producing ALOT for artists in the bay, be on the lookout for Skool Boyz Production, shits finna be sizzling), so this could be a good look for you down the line...

i feel you; the main point i'm trying to get at is an audio engineer that is willing to work on budget and price (however it may be) if they like the music we are doing. PM me with some of your prices, I've seen you post all over here so I'd be interested to know. (I've been on this site since 2006, just started posting though...)

I would be shooting protools files to the engineer where he/she could work as they please unless they had a great studio offer for me. Right now we've got a couple of protools home studios that are proving to be good for where we are at right now...

What are you working with? Do you use any specific facilities, or is this something you'd be shooting to an engineer to mix at his own spot?

Gotcha. I'll be at you. I have a team of producers and I've been mixing tracks for other folks as well. I'll go check your stuff out in a few.

no money no honey good brotha..... most people who think theyre engineers arent... a digi 002 and pro tools doesnt make you an engineer.... half these cats who call themselves engineers would fall off the face of the earth if they were forced to go all analog....

most OG's that are engineers would agree that the Art form has been lost due to the digital age....just my thoughtz...

But that's like telling a graphic artist that the art form has been lost due to the digital age. Just because you don't have to pick up a pencil and a sketch pad anymore, doesn't mean you're less of an artist. A lot of digital plug-ins have the same face as the hardware, but in an analog environment you have to use your hands instead of a mouse.

Point is, if a graphic designer has an eye for things and knows how to draw, it doesn't matter how he does it. If an engineer or producer has an ear, it doesn't matter how he does it. Only difference in music now is, you can do it quicker and don't have to fuck with tape and a million dollar mixing console.

I understand that there is money involved in this industry, but what about collaborating for the good of the project or music? What if you're really feeling a dude's style or a dudes song and think that theres big potential in possibly working with them for free (and get paid later for example) or at a discounted price? Is that just a huge no for you? Alot of my networking and collaborations have been because of a mutual respect of the artform and a willingness to invest time and product on both ends to create a great piece of music/art. lemme kno wat u think about that philosophy my dude...
