need help with mpc and motif rack

someone help me. when i start a sequence in the mpc 2000 I start off with one sound(basss line for example) then when i go on to the next track of the sequence to put another sound over my bassline. (for example strings) i cant get that new sound over the bassline. the thebassline turns into strings can anyone help I want t oknow if it's the rack or the mpc

you have to set your sounds up according to the track numbers.
where it say drum at the bottom of your sequence next to it should say off, turn the knob the 1a or 1b. track 1 should be your bassline track 2a or 2b shouls be your strings and track 3a or 3b should be your kick and so on and so on. i hope that helped.

the mpc has 16 channels you dont need nothing thats all i have too is a mpc and a mortif rack.

just change the bottom of the screen on the mpc to midi channel 1 then pick the instrament on the motif.

then go to a new track change the channel to two on the mpc and set a souind that you want on the second channel on the motif.

The main reason that people used to (and still do) get an mpc is that it is a midi sequencer. It is the center of so many people's studio. Basically, people like Dr Dre and Battlecat use it as the center of their music production, with all their modules and keyboards being controlled by the mpc. So if you're happy with the mpc, you don't need another sequencer or midi box to control your modules.

ive tried

i trie df to change the channels and it doesnt seem to want to change sounds still. i put it on midi then switch the channels no sounds come out when i press it i see channel 2 put n o sounds comes out still how do you set the mid channels to read the sounds channel by channel do i have to have a certain setting

yeah

the motiff has it's on software to edit sounds on the computer instead im triyng to figure out how to use it. I got the mpc hooked up to the rack ass wekk but i just want to make beats on there and dump them inside my computer to save them. I think the soft ware is called yahamha sq1 editor
