Need help with game patches for xbox 360??

Ok, I have 2 accounts one i made first, which is my name, and its not xbox live enabled and then like 4 months later when i got a xbox live subscription card i made another account for xbox live, as my first name was already taken.

Now heres my question, if i put a game in and sign onto my xbox live account and download a patch or update for a game, does it apply the patches to all the accounts on the xbox or do i have to play the game with my xbox live account to play the game with the new patches? Thanks

All accounts. It just saves to the hd and associates itself with the game, I'm pretty sure.
