the real money in fed ex is through contractor work
it will run you 25 racks or more per route though... and if you own enough routes, you can just sit back and collect the money
and as far as drug tests, its required by the DOT that you take the physical every 2 years, and one part of the physical is the piss test... other than that, fed ex won't test you unless you give them a reason to

UPS doesnt drug test but they do a felony check. drivers dont top out at 32 an hour the top rate is 28 for the brownie trucks. the big rigs that go across state is where the money is at.holiday working for ups aint worth it your only gonna get 9 bucks an hour, IF YOU ALREADY WORK AT UPS ITS WORTH IT, during november employed driver helps get top rate pay, 28 bucks an hour. people off the street get 9. they dont get 3 months vacatiion right off the bat, it depends on how long u been there, your first year you only get 2 weeks and it increases yearly. its takes at least 3 years to be a driver, and your gonna have to kiss a lot of ass and try to be involved with as many people as you can in your hub. that place is political.
Drivers dont top out at 32 an hour its 28 they want to move it to 32 or 34 in the next contract and that top scale which takes three years to get. Plus there is a push to make ups frieght union I hear drives talking about it all the time. Drivers are some lazy ass cry baby bitches always wanting more money talking about how they milk it for over time and shit fuck drivers they should pay the guys on the dock busting these fucked up ass loads better then alway kissing drives female ass's.

I worked both.....fedex pissed me off cuz they kept stringing me along talkin bout "we'll gonna make you a customer service rep if you cut your hair" I told my manager straight up "I'll cut it if you promote me, but I won't cut it before that" he was happy to hear that, but kept asking me week after week when am I gonna cut my hair "when are you gonna promote me?" I ended up getting fired for being 1 minute late. yes. 1 fucking minute. and the fucking asshole ass manager came up to me while I was working like "we don't need you to come in tomorrow, but can you come in the next day 2 hours early?" then decided to not show up himself. I come in and the other manager is like "he's not here, but your check is here early, so I think you're fired"
I did the same shit, I was sick of missing everyfuckingthing that was happening at night (my shift started at 11pm) and there was some concert or something happenning, so I stroll into work and tell my managers "I think I'm gonna quit" "when?" "today" "oh....are you gonna work tonite?" "no, can I have my check tho?"

ain't that the truth.....when I got hired in 98 or 99 at the Oakland hub they started you off at $8.85/hr....which was alright then since the minimum wage was like $6....they're at, what, $9 now 10 years later? :ermm:

holy shit they fired you for being one minute late. if a job will fire you for being 1 minute late it's not a job worth keeping. don't tell me that was your first time being late. i try to never go to work late but if i am running late i walk up in my job expecting to get fired. i just don't want to be caught off gaurd. i have been caught off gaurd and got fired at one job hella years ago and im not gonna let that happen again.
