THE WARRIORS NEED 2 MAKE A TRADE 4 A SOLID BIG MAN DEFENDER...BEIDRENS HAS DEFINITELY IMPROVED BUT WHEN YOU HAVE 2 PUT STEVE JACCSON ON A POWER FORWARD SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT...I'D LET ONE OF THE YOUNG PROSPECTS GO 4 A VETERAN CENTER OR PF...TURIAF IS SOLID OFF THE BENCH BUT THEY NEED A SIMILAR PLAYER 2 START AT THE 4.....NELSON HAS THE PROBLEM OF THINKING SMALL TEAMS CAN BEAT POWERHOUSES...THAT ONLY WORKS WHEN YOU HAVE EXCEPTIONAL SPEED ON DEFENSE...& IF YOU ASK ME DEFENSE IS THE WARRIORS WEAK POINT...I LIKE THE WAY RANDOLPH HUSTLES BUT NELSON WON'T PLAY HIM ENOUGH 2 GET CONFIDENT...HIS ROTATION SCHEMES ARE PITIFUL....I SEE PLENTY OF TALENT BUT YOU HAVE 2 KNOW HOW 2 BLEND THOSE INTANGIBLES....& KEEPIN IT ALL THE WAY REAL...THE WARRIORS ALSO NEED A TRUE POINT GUARD...THEY'VE GOT LIKE 5 ABOVE AVERAGE SHOOTING GUARDS BUT NONE OF THEM SEEM 2 BE ABLE 2 HANDLE THE POINT GUARD DUTIES...INCLUDING MONTA....HE'S MORE LIKE AN IVERSON SO YOU HAVE 2 LET HIM CREATE 4 HIMSELF.....HE'S NOT GOOD AT CREATING 4 OTHERS...HOPEFULLY THEY'LL MAKE 1 OR 2 GOOD TRADES & MAYBE THEY CAN GEL BY JUNE.....I THINK MULLIN SHOULD BE CALLING THE SHOTS & DON NELSON NEEDS 2 BE IN AN OLD FOLKS HOME TELLING CELTIC STORIES....HE'S FUCCING UP MY WARRIOR FAN-ISM
I never knew you were a Warriors fan Tay Capone. You are pretty much saying the same things that any Warriors fan with common sense has been saying for the past couple of years. Even the year when we made the playoff run and beat Dallas in the first round I knew that was just a tease and we wouldn't be able to follow suit the next season. But to stay relevant to this thread I can honestly say there are definitely some players on this list who I wouldn't mind seeing wear a Warriors jersey but, none of them would help us win a championship because they are all small forwards or guards which we seem to have a large collection of already. Don Nelson seems to be prejudiced against young players, big men and defensive players. So until there is a change in that philosophy we will continue to dwell in mediocrity.
They just lack a consistent defensive effort.
And when I say consistent, that means from the time the opposing team takes possession of the ball up until securing a defensive rebound. Second chance points murder them. Somebody other than Biedrins needs to BOX THE FUCK OUT because Biedrins is the one protecting the basket. You couple that with a lot of empty offensive possessions (turnovers ... Stack Jack usually), then you have a problem.
When they get after it defensively (use Celtics game as an example), they can play with anybody. When they don't (use Mavericks, Thunder games as examples), they couldn't beat UNC.
They need a Brandon Bass, or a Josh Smith type to start at the 4. They need a big body that can run as well as defend.
