I've been noticing some awful high scores in games this year. It seems every gameday, there is at least one team scoring over 120, and only a few games held under 100.What do you think this is from? The new ball that the players are whinning about?

I think it's because there's more small ball going on allowing for a run and gun system. I haven't seen any problems with the ball thus far, if anything it helps players score better.

less complaining now because of the tighter rules.....nba is fallin down....i aint even watching that shit daily like i used to.....higher scores maybe because of the growth/development of each player.....the game is changing now

I said...I don't know. Is it really that much higher this year?

It's still kind of early too...maybe it will die down by the end of the year.

Maybe teams are just saying fuck it now...we're not playing D anyway...let's just try and outscore everyone.

Teams are going with the small ball approach. Instead of having role players, they have basketball players. This allows the game to flow a lot more freely. It opens up shots, allows fast breaks, limits fouls. Its not "playing no d" or "shitty d".. its just placing more emphasis on offense rather than defense. and it makes the game a lot more exciting in my opinion.
Im not saying Dantoni invented this style of play, but he brought it to the table and made it look good. thats for sure.

Actually, Don Nelson was the one to bring it to the table.

The league rules and penalties create shitty defense. If you attempt to play good D, you'll get called for a foul.

The NBA thinks higher scores = higher ratings.

The NBA is a joke.
Makes sense. They have been getting petty this year. SOme of the T's being called are absolutely ridiculous.

Not really. The only similarity between Dantoni's system and Nelson's is the abundance of points. Its also not a coinsidence that they both had the same guy running their system on the court--Nash. Don Nelson runs plays though and he uses the traditional lineup of PG,SG,C,SF,PF. Dantoni runs 2 players--the pick and roll and alley-oop--but usually lets Nash dissect the defense and he only uses one role player, PG.
