Talks between the Clippers and free-agent guard Allen Iverson have been characterized as "very serious!!!" according a source close to Iverson who was not authorized to speak publicly about the negotiations.

The Clippers have long been intrigued by Iverson, having come close to acquiring him in the past.

The Jazz, most NBA types at the NBA Summer League believe, will take the full seven days they're alloted, and then match the offer sheet. Then, they'll trade Boozer. Simple as that. Either way, the Jazz will be okay.

Odom says he doesn't regret coming off the bench last season. ``We won a title,'' he said, pointing to the TV screen showing highlights.

Odom: ``That's how negotiations are. Sometimes you're right on the same page and sometiems you're way off, that's just part of it.

Odom said he's still ``hopeful'' he'll be back with the Lakers. Over 1 hour ago.

According to most of the greek media, Josh Childress is going to stay for another season with Olympiakos. The american small forward decided not to take up the offer of the Milwaukee Bucks for 5.5 million dollars per season and decided to stay with Olympiakos and the 6.5 million dollars contract of his for next season.

Nate Robinson has been offered to Olympiakos despite his existing contract with the New York Knicks. Being a restricted free agent he could forego the last season of his contract that should get him 2.2 million dollars for a possibly larger contract if he were to sign with Olympiakos.

What is not going to happen is a three-way deal between Utah, Chicago and Portland that was out in the trade winds last week. I don't deal in rumored trades because they're just that -- rumors, and someone else's sources are not mine. I will just say this: two of the three teams mentioned in that potential deal have told me, flat out, that there was never one minute's discussion about that reported deal in their offices. If these guys are lying to me, it's the first time, and while anything is possible during this silly season, it would be terribly disappointing.

The Lakers' pursuit of unrestricted free agent Lamar Odom has ground to a halt, an NBA source said Tuesday afternoon. After raising their offer to Odom to more than $9 million per season, the Lakers have pulled the offer from the table because they failed to receive a response from Odom's agent, Jeff Schwartz.

....Jerry Buss, the Lakers' team owner, gave the OK to raise the ante to more than $9 million from more than $8 million last week. Buss became upset that Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak did not get a yea or a nay from Schwartz, the source said.

among the desirable frontcourt free agents remaining -- Lamar Odom, Marvin Williams, David Lee, Jamario Moon, Marquis Daniels, Linas Kleiza -- they're not in play for any of them, we're told, because they don't want to add payroll, and they don't see anyone who is cost-effective.
