Damn sounds too fucking good. i am motivated to go now :D
Not gonna lie to you bro, the Navy has done good things for me. However, I fucking hate it. I am too smart to be shit on by these people.
If you can "play the game" you will go far. I however, talk shit to my superiors because I can easily out smart them. Then I wonder why I get shit on.
I pretty much dug my own hole. Still made E-5 and have never been in any real trouble.
19 months 2 weeks and I am free. Too bad Obama won't have the economy fixed by then hahaha

I've been wanting to go back to college. Only problem is money (of course). I was wondering if anybody has joined or know somebody thats joined the national guard. They say the offer a $20k bonus and free college. I'd like some more info and shit but the last thing I wanna do is contact a recuiter. They'll bother my ass for another 3 years. Any help is appreciated ladies and gents.
see you in IRAQ LOL

Like I said before, with a job like a firefighter, the only combat you MIGHT see will be when you go out on patrol. But it's not as common as you might think, according to friends who have been deployed. But yeah I'm pretty sure the army has the highest bonuses for first-time enlistments, but that also depends on your job.
good shit, right on for the info.

What branch you in? or do you just know alot about this kinda shit?

kingsix18 - I haven't done the ASVAB test, i'm thinking i will need to take it wen i finally speak with a recruiter? and again i'll be doing much more research during this week n so foward. I only know one person at the moment who is in the army and i don't have his contact info. So im pretty much lefted out with just myself, goarmy.com and the dudes on the siccness.

In all reality, the Navy is fucking easy.
If you just go to work, do your job and chill, it might just be the easiest job EVER.
I mostly hate it because I work really hard and I see others not doing the same yet getting the same amount of money as me. I am what you call a go getter. The type the military loves but shits on because I question the bullshit.

I need to go to sleep or something, I am typing very well for the amount of beer I drank tonight. haha

Before you take the asvab use something like this

I scored a 70 without studying and after 2 years of heavy drug use.
I got lucky. Study for the ASVAB because the higher you score the better your chances of NOT being on the front line are.

Yeah you'll probably take a short practice one first, and then the real thing at MEPS when you get sworn in. Yeah research as much as you can. Really read up on those jobs you're interested in. Maybe google them up and looks for links to forums so you can see what people think about those jobs.

I never studied for the ASVAB. First time I took it I scored a 93, second time a 92. A lot of it is simple math and English. There's some science stuff which may be hard for some people, mechanics, and some crazy type of puzzle shit at the end.

you mean FT BENNING? im pretty sure that FT BENNING is basic training for Infantry only....unless its changed since i lived there a few years ago....
That's not exactly true. Infantry train there for OSUT (One Station Unit Training) which combines basic training and AIT. Other MOS's can train at Benning too, but that only depends on where their AIT training will take place. If they're AIT will take place at a base close to Benning, for example, Fort Stewart, then they will do basic training at Benning. Since my AIT is at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, my basic training will first be done at SC. See how it works?
