Washington guard expected to go pro


Washington guard Nate Robinson is expected to declare that he's entering the NBA draft.

He'll hold a press conference Monday and could announce his decision then, The Seattle Times reported.

The junior averaged 16.4 points and 4.5 assists this season for the Huskies, who lost 93-74 to Louisville in the regional semifinal of the NCAA Tournament.

After that game, he hinted at turning pro.

"I have a family," he said. "It's time to provide for my family."



I understand he got mouths to feed...but lets be honest...he aint ready for the NBA...and he wont go in the first 3 rounds...oh well... :ermm:

Dawg the NBA Draft only consists of only 2 rounds and he is pretty much guaranteed to be selected, just where the doubt comes in is if he's a 1st rounder (3 years GUARANTEED) or a 2nd rounder (nothing guaranteed). That is debatable, most projections I have seen have put him as an early 2nd rounder.

Yeah i just realized that i typed that..i meant 2...but with all the other under classmen comin out this year,i still dont see him goin in the draft...hell have to earn his contract...

NBA? LMAO. He ain't gonna get drafted, he should stay 1 more year if he knows what's best for him. Guards in the league will DESTROY dude, he doesn't have much skill as far as I've seen him play. Good luck to him tho.

THE DUDE WILL GET DRAFTED, that is a given (and if you don't think it is hit me up and take my $500). You all probably don't realize that last year at the NBA Draft Camp in Chicago, he absolutely tore the place apart, he would've been drafted last year for sure, he came back so he could try to move up to the 1st round, which he may or may not accomplish.

And any argument that's like "the guys in the league will tear him apart" is just stupid, every single year many many many rookies get torn up, nobody on here's saying the guy's gonna go into the league and be an All-Star, we're saying he's going to get there.

OK hit me up for some action, take my money.

HAHAHHA I hate that fool. But Nate is too small and not good enough. I mean Boykins is small but Nate is nowhere near as good as him. He shouldve stayed with Washington one more year.

BWAHAHA that pic you posted just proves our point. Look at him, he broke his own ankle on his own cross over LOL, nah j/p. IMO if he gets drafted, it'll be by the sonics but I highly doubt he'll even get drafted, maybe a late 2nd rounder.

He'll definitely get drafted - I think early to mid second round

He'll become a good change of pace guard off the bench, but i think he'll have a real problem getting his shot off in the nba. He has hops on his J, but his release is a little slow

I had to take a second look when i saw Chris Hernandez is coming - a had a chuckle over that - that dude is definitely going back for his SR year. Maybe he thinks Montgomery will take him in the 2nd round.

That dude Martell Webster the huskies are supposed to get looks like a serious baller with a major J. It kinda looks like he might be going pro

u obviously never watch nate robinson play. nate robinson would eat up earl boykins. nate is like a 5'9 baron davis. the guy is only 5'9 but hes strong as fuck and weights 200lbs (he played Running Back his freshman year at washington )and would dip on yao ming (nate has a 46 inch vertical leap). nate robinson is top 20 pick and hes got a big heart and plays great defense.

But here's why I THINK he won't make the final cut, mainly because of his weak offensive skills. Y'all nuttriders act like he's the only 5'9" dude that can dunk and is athletic lol, I didn't know that's all you needed to do to get drafted in the NBA. Nate will eat up Boykins? ROTF hang yourself now. Boykins maybe little but he's an extremely skillful player, he knows how to get his shot off against bigger players and can make shots, does Nate? NOOO, as seen in the lost agaisnt louisville, what did he score? 2 pts. in the biggest game of his life? C'mon now.... Also Boykins can dunk too buddy boy, he can also bench 300. Anyway back to Nate....Conroy his teammate plays a better PG then he does, leads the team and passes better than Nate and is a better scorer. And Nate a good defensive player? Not against bigger pg's, Ty Kwan dean roasted his ass, just my dos centavos.

I agree...and for the record..Nate is ACTUALLY 5'7"...they just list him as 5'9" for obvious reasons...And Conry and Tre will go before Nate will...

nate has weak offensive skills ? what exactly do u mean by that ? scoring ? 16.4 PPG. ball handling ? the guy has handles like stephon marbury. shooting ? the guy has a decent jump shot 47% FG and was 39 % from the 3 point line and 80 % from the Free Throw. Running an offense ? he averaged only 2.0 turnovers per game, thats lower than raymond felton, and chris paul and the guy handles the ball the whole game. what offensive skills exactly are you talkin' about ? the guy has no real weakness other than his height. i like this guy's game cuz he plays tough and is hard to stop one on one. and yes he would eat up earl boykins, cuz when i say nate can dunk i mean he can really dunk it like windmills and 360 dunks for a 5'9 player (thats just filthy).


check out his numbers. hes had a great career in just 3 years at washington. read the scouting report also. the guy is a deadly shooter but because hes so explosive it gets overlooked. hes the complete packege for a PG execpt his height.

damn you think conroy and tre will go before nate? i gotta disagree

Tre can only really shoot and he's streaky at that and can't stop anyone to save his life

Conroy is solid but he doesn't do one thing overly great - plus he's not that athletic for NBA standards.

and im one who thinks Boykins fits more team better than Nate, but a Boykins/Nate matchup would be rather entertaining
