<a href="http://myspace.com/e40">Legendary E-40</a>

<a href="http://myspace.com/e40"><img src="http://myspace-638.vo.llnwd.net/00099/83/61/99941638_m.jpg"></a>

DJs are loving 40's latest single <a href="http://www.myspace.com/e40">"Tell Me When to Go,"</a>
already receiving several spins on national radio produced by
Lil Jon and featuring another bay area legend, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/keakdasneak">Keak da Sneak</a>

Throughout the '90s and into the next decade, <a href="http://myspace.com/e40">E-40</a> led a generation of Cali Bay Area rappers and attracted a large cult following of listeners that spread from the West Coast to the South. Forty's uncanny rhyme delivery set him apart from the mainstream, as he coined a plethora of slang terms and experimented with overdubbed vocals. Moreover, his longevity and sincerity earned him many alliances, first among his Bay Area colleagues, then with Jive Records and numerous Dirty South camps, among them No Limit and Cash Money Records.

Born Earl Stevens and later host to numerous nicknames "Charlie Hustle," "Forty Fonzarelli," "40-Watter," and more 40 grew up in the Cali Bay Area and aspired to follow in the footsteps of Too Short. Like that Oakland legend, 40 built a street presence with mixtapes long before he released his first album. After years of mixtape hustling, he decided to start his own label, Sick Wid' It, and began extending his reach beyond the streets of Vallejo, the Bay Area city he called home. Forty entered the national rap game forcibly in 1994 with an EP (The Mail Man), a single ("Captain Save a Hoe"), and an album (Federal); and he also released an album by his group, the Click (Down and Dirty).

<a href="http://myspace.com/e40"><img src="http://myspace-168.vo.llnwd.net/00102/86/18/102028168_m.jpg"</a>

<a href="http://myspace.com/goapelemusic">Goapele's</a>new album "Change It All" hit stores on December 27. This will be Goapele's second release, her first on a major label - <a href="http://www.sonyurban.com">Sony Urban.</a>

Born Goapele Mohlabane in Oakland, CA, this singer grew up in a socially conscious and politically active family. Her mother married South African political exile Douglas Mohlabane while studying in Nairobi, Kenya. At an early age, Goapele attended the Berkeley Arts Magnet School where she led a pre-teen peer support group. She also became involved in various groups and organizations that combated racism and sexism. It would be these extroverted activities that assisted her singing career as she would also sing at community functions.

In high school, Goapele sang in the Oakland Youth Choir and became part of a semi-professional music group called Vocal Motion. Upon high school graduation, she attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston, where she studied music theory. She also began developing her songwriting skills during her post-secondary education. In the summer of 2001, Goapele was signed to Skyblaze Recordings and completed her debut album. After finishing the record, she toured North America with Spearhead. She returned to the studio in 2002 to begin work on her second record and has just released "Change it All" on December 27.

The album features fan favorite "Closer" as well as contributions by <a href="http://www.myspace.com/dwele">Dwele</a> and Clyde Carson.

<a href="http://myspace.com/peopleunderthestairs"><img src="http://myspace-618.vo.llnwd.net/00325/81/61/325311618_m.jpg"</a>

New album coming in April of 2006!

<a href="http://myspace.com/peopleunderthestairs">People Under the Stairs</a> are not just a breath of fresh air, but a funky and soulful breath of dope air in the midst of a stagnating genre. I could mention how they're similar to Ugly Duckling, Jurassic 5, Dilated Peoples or The Beatnuts but that would be placing 'The P' in a category, which is something that cannot be done. Are they old school hip hop? Are they funky hip hop? Are they jazzy hip hop? ...They are all of these, they are hip hop in its purest form.

Myspace got bought by FOX a few months ago and believe Tom got a nice 9 figure payout for it and he still is in charge of it.

but just to let you know, Keak is also ranked number 60 overall in the Indy section of myspace music ahead of a lot of "mainstream" artists
