Lost everything as of right now. My old computer died and when I went to put the slave drive from the old to the new computer it wouldn't detect in bios let alone disk manager. I'm going to try a hard drive enclosure to see if I can just plug and pray. All of my photos of my family (5k+) were on the drive not to mention every single .psd file ever along with all 1600 full albums and all my software. Just wanted to vent.

Anyway I'm up and running with a new pc, anyone have any blogsites with links to Photoshop and Illustrator?

Fuck them fuckers lol, I'm probably going to go with Seagate, they have a partnership with staples where I can take it there and if they cant work with it they send it to a seagate lab. The music and software is replaceable, just my damn family photos man everything is gone let alone some artwork I was doing.

one of mine died, and i thought i lost everything and my boy recovered everything.

odds are it's the enclosure. it's very unlikely that it's a failure and nothing is recoverable.

it's hella expensive to do the lab thing... just find someone who knows a lot about IT, they should be able to help.

i tripped out when mine died, but it ended up not being so bad. i wish someone would have told me that shit.

I don't have it in an enclosure quite yet. It was a slave drive in my old system (2 partitions and it was a dynamic disk). I pulled it out plugged it into the new system and it doesn't detect in Bios or Disk management. I thought it might have been the IDE cable but another drive I had plugged and worked perfectly. I'm gonna get an enclosure just to give it a shot and return it if it doesn't work then proceed with the recovery services.
