the Cubs are about to land Marquis to around a 3/30 deal....good for the Cubbies but fuck 10 mill a year.....just another case of an average pitcher with potential raking in on this crazy ass market.

correction....the Cubs just finalized their deal with Jason Marquis, and it wasnt as bad as i thought....3years 20 million, thats the kind of signing the Royals should have made. Or at least the dollar value, ok now that the Cubs got their rotation filled out now it's time to get a centerfielder and maybe Cliff FLoyd

^^^yea...

but you gotta be a Royals fan to see why that is still an improvement...haha..

I cant wait for the next 3 years...i think we will be contending by then...when all of our young prospects are up in the majors..

what happened to Greinke?

that kid just dissappeared..

foxsports.com very own Dayn Perry had this to say about the Meche signing

Most pointless addition
Gil Meche to the Royals. Meche has a strong scouting profile, which means, at his age, he's a breakout candidate. However, to what end? If Meche does manage for once to stay healthy and pitch effectively, then that means, what, the Royals lose 90 games instead of 97? And a five-year contract? Meche won't be a part of the next consequential Royals team (Heaven knows when that will happen), and it's not likely fans will breathlessly click through the turnstiles to see him pitch. Meche made sense for a contending team in need of a back-of-the-rotation guy; he makes no sense for a last-place team in the throes of rebuilding.

Beltran is the shit......i'm glad the Cubs locked up Soriano, but they should have signed Beltran instead. That year he was a FA i know he was deciding between the Mets and Cubs but the Mets offer was better. the Cubs offer i believe was 5yrs 75mill....if they wouldnt of been cheapskates back then they could have tacked on a year and another 15 to 20 mill......if all else he would have at least considered it but at the time he wasnt considering any offer under 100million.

yea Beltrans postseason for the astros was insane....and i watched him singlehandedly eliminate the cubs from contention that year....i've always liked Soriano, just never in my wildest dreams imagined he'd come to Chicago...now it looks like he'll retire there, i just hope he's got some more 40/40 season left in him, hell i'd be happy for 30/30 but for what he's getting paid he'll need to step it up up a notch.
