How can you expect so much from 1 album that like someone said previously, is a brand new sound and e-40 is a brand new artist in their eyes... i don't think u really understand, i highly doubt the tell me when to go video cost that much if your arguin that e-40's sales won't beable to recoop fo the cost of the project.....

They promoted the hell out of this album/movement and no one bought into the gimmick. 93,000 is a flop! 40 ain't Independent no more, Yayo and Fat Joe did better numbers than that. This is actually bad for a mainstream album. btw, where is your source??

^^And L.A is in Cali. When he does that on an NY radio station, then we have something. My main point is that most of you guys just look weird celebrating this shit. Just say it's ok, he'll do better next week. But you guys are up here saying that 93,000 is big! And he's done much bigger with even less promo (Hall Of Game, 123,000). Obviously the Hall Of Game album was simply a better album with a MUCH better single! I don't think niggas are falling for these gimmicks no more. "The Hyphy Movement", please. I felt funny about this shit since day one, that ain't even how we get down in the Bay. This movement is too shallow, I know crunk is too, but this shit is Key Word, "Too" shallow.

Exactly, with no machinery, one video, and virtually no further promotion. And he debuted lower, at number 4! That's telling you that this is a flop, and the only reason that he is number 3 is because no one else did anything last week. Yukmouth put out mixtapes that did close to this in the first week, 93,000 is below average no matter what any of these Bay dudes try and tell themselves. Joe Budden's debut did better than this, c'mon now. Admit it and stop making excuses, didn't no body want to buy this shit. The only reason you guys think it's a good number is because Bay rappers have been independent and haven't been doin number over 10,000 (San Quinn did 6)in first week sales. 40 was like the only one being signed to Jive. I ain't tryna be the barer of bad news, but you guys look really stupid getting hyped up over 93,000 sales. The rest of the country is probably laughing at you niave motha fuckas. Anyone who tells you that these numbers are good aren't being objective and they are most likely an E-40 fan and/or from the Bay.

if you buy one double cd its counted as 2 cd's sold because of the price. so essentially he moved half that number of units 1st week

Man, you are ignorant. Why would you compare album sales from the tape era before internet downloads and CD burners. They are making kids dumber and dumber. Get to your next class dummy & pay attention.

youre trippin. 40 is an OLD artist, the single isn't a #1 hit or anything, and the video wasn't in rotation on BET until last week. not to mention the vast amount of east coast hate he gets he wasnt gonna sell 200k first week. lil jon knows this, and he knows the way this album is gonna sell is over a few months with good singles and good ONGOING promotion.

40 only had a national buzz for little more than a month, and "Tell Me When 2 Go" is not for everyone. Give it some time, and wait for "U and Dat" to hit....

a) I don't know what part of the Bay your from, but in the Town we been getting Hyphy for years.... It is not a backpack movement.
