Mac Dre in a whole nother league.. for some reason i just put him above everybody, its more than lyrics wit him tho, just the personality.. anyways tho
on some raw ass shit Yuk can tear a beat apart.
i like the way Quinn rhymes tho, i dont care if u think he dont rhyme or whatever, i just listen for a hot beat and hot lyrics, if im likin it i like it. i dont dissect like i used to. i dont have time for that shit

Hell yeah.

Ya Boy is hella overrated as a lyricist. If you listen to what he says, he has no substance and his rhymes are average by a lyricists standards. Yukmouth on the other hand got some sick ass wordplay!
But if he wrote about more diverse shit he would kill it. I don't really like hearing alotta songs about crack selling and thuggin' but I can't deny Ya Boy.

fa sho, quoted for truth.

re: Ya Boy - I heard most of the tracks off Ya Boy's Rookie of the Year album and sorry, he doesn't do much for me, although he did have some hot tracks on there. I don't see anything unqie about his voice/rap style. Not saying he sounds bad or antyhing.

Give him sometime, he hasnt been in the rap game that long. Hes only what 23-24 years old ? To be honest and it people may not look at it this way but I see Ya Boy the same way Yukmouth came out 8 years ago. They both very similar in style. Give him 5 years and Ya Boy can easily be the best in the Bay, hes got plenty of time to improve. Another guy I see is Clyde Carson. If he can just be a lil more consistent because on one song he can sound so sick and his lyrics can be increadible but on the next track he can sound lazy and starts rappin' slow and talking about yurple, aint nothin wrong with that but he keeps changing his style. Another guy is Fed-X. He just needs to drop an album to show everyone.

PS: I KNOW HE'S NOT FROM THE BAY AREA, BUT I HAVE TO MENTION CROOKED-I. GODDAAAAAMN THIS GUY IS TALENTED. BEST LYRICIST ON THE WESTCOAST IN MY OPINION, AND PROBABLY EVEN THE EASTCOAST AS WELL. I DON'T SEE ANYONE FUCKING WITH THIS CAT. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT HE CAN FLIP IT AND RAP REALLY FAST ON SOME TWISTA SHIT. IF SOMEONE HAS HIS NEW CUT "CREASED KHAKI FLOW" PLEASE POST IT UP SO PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THIS DUDE CAN HEAR IT..
They tellin me no flows tighter/I'm so fly with the english/Crooked-i spit like his ghost writers a genius!!!! YESSSS! He's da truth. Cant really make a well rounded song tho. Either his beats are garbage and it don't work, or his hooks are hella gay. He'll find that formula tho.

UPSTATE NICCA... true, he's a new cat in the game and once he hones his skills I'm sure he'll be up there.

Hey upstate, you live in the Moe? What rappers do you see on the daily out there or which ones do you know personally? I've seen 4tay many moons ago in a white benz. I think he had a chauffer?

im gonna have to disagree homie, back in them operation stackola and b-sides and bootlegs shit yuk was far ahead of ya boy and i feel also has more of a personality on the mic although lately with this mixtape shit he needs to chill out a bit with the bangin on wax

Man I've set it time after time Yuk is in another league, Yuk posses the best overall lyrics, delivery, wordplay, substance, and punchlines in the Bay. Quinn's flow is boring and off beat at times. Ya Boy is hard but he lacks charisma on the mic. Balance, Frontline, and Clyde Carson are the future of the Bay. They all spit acid and they all young gunz.

40 is not that lyrical imo if thats what you meant with mc.. and messy aint lyrical either.. i would put yuk above e40 as far as lyrics go yuk got the whole package..

but as far as comparing ya boy with yuk i dont see that yuk was already tight as fuck when he was like 18 when they was still the luni-tunez and he only got better cuz he mastered his flow and delivery
