Because it is her right as an American citizen, which she is of legal status.
it's also my right as an American citizen to talk on my cell phone, but if my job says I can't talk on my phone at work... then they have the right to tell me not to
it's my right as an american citizen to wear shorts... but if my job says I can't wear shorts to work, then they have the right to tell me not to
it's my right as an american citizen to have my nose pierced... you get the point by now???
when we're on the clock employers are allowed to tell us what to do. period... sure we have the right as a citizen to not listen to them, but they can fire us, suspend us, send us home, etc... that's how jobs work
that lady can wear her hijab to the movies, to dinner, to a party, to the store... I don't give a fuck... but not to work
Why are so many people siding with a big corporation like Disney? Isn't rap music the anti-establishment voice? you would think rap fans would be REJOICING that this broad is trying to fuck over a "big, bad empire".
I'd rather form my own opinion than think... "what would a rapper do here...?"
and I don't view Disney as a "big bad corporation"
I view Disney as a big corporation that has rules for employees, she didn't wanna follow the rules... if they let her get away with it they'll have to let everyone get away with it... which is gonna cause more problems down the road
you mentioned the line is "blurred" and that's the problem... make the line CLEAR... say "this is the way we do it here, you don't like it? don't work here"
props to Disney for not giving in
