Hmmm interesting, why not do math and get the average for each region? (Add all the colors of 1 region, and then divide by how many cities made it)

Pittsburgh has the lowest murder rate in the AFC North!

Did you color code that or is that how you got it? Most people consider Pittsburgh in the east. A handful consider it part of the midwest.

Seattle (the real superbowl champions!) is the lowest for the entire NFC, bitch!! :)
LOL this is murder we're talking about and not football, I don't think there's a correlation LOL.

The 9ers would be the lowest in the NFC if you include San Jose, a city in their market and perhaps future home.

A lot of folks asked great questions about international stuff. I was able to find some national figures but unfortunately not much that was city-specific. Here's what I found:

Murders Per 100,000 People, 1998

Jamaica 36.8
South Africa 26.63
Brazil 25.78
Jamaica 18.23
U.S. 6.24
Estonia 6.12

So if Jamaica and South Africa have rates 4-8 times higher than the United States, and America's roughest cities are barely above the national average for those respective countries, it's safe to assume the roughest cities in Jamaica and South Africa are atleast 3-4 times higher than America's.

If Kingston's really is 140 per 100,000 that's unbelievable.

the west is on some gangsta shit.... bring that west coast pac style back. The hyphy movement has really takin over!!! TBIB!

the midwest did work...
Not sure if you're being sarcastic there, crime rates out west tend to be much lower than other parts of the country, that's evident from the list.
