MTV Cancels Wrestling Society X
Date Added: February 28, 2007
Story By: Devis Owens
source: pro wrestling insider

An insider at MTV had recently leaked word that the decision has been made to cancel the Wrestling Society X series. Apparently, MTV made the call earlier today. The phrase being used at MTV today was that the series was to be finished "effective immediately". At this point it is unknown whether the remaining episods will ever be seen on TV. There are still six unaired episodes from the original filming.

Big Vision Entertainment, which produced the show, will retain rights to WSX and can market it to other networks or direct to DVD if they choose to do so.

I liked the show,im a wrestling fan and it was something different.

i think it could have worked if it was 1 hour, shit was way too fast paced. It sucks that its cancelled because people got a chance to see all the indy talent you can only see locally, I have seen alot of these dudes at PWG events in LA

More Details On MTV Pulling Wrestling Society X
Date Added: March 01, 2007
Story By: Richard Gray
Source: PWInsider.com

As we reported earlier, MTV has pulled Wrestling Society X from its schedule. We can now confirm that next week’s airing has been replaced with "High School Stories: Scandals, Pranks, Controversies." Replays already scheduled for the series have also been removed from MTV’s schedule.

MTV.com has removed WSX from its listing of official MTV series, but has left up the WSX.MTV.com website. However, they have not added the most recent episode on the official website.

The cancellation was due to the tremendous drop off in ratings.

MTV Changes Mind On Wrestling Society X Yet Again
Date Added: March 06, 2007
Story By: Devis Owens
source: pro wrestling insider

PWInsider.com is reporting that an MTV source has stated that Wrestling Society X is going to return next Tuesday with the network airing one, possibly two episodes.
There is no indication as to whether this is an attempt to revive the series or if MTV is simply making use of WSX's episodes since they are paid for and edited.
