^^i dont have the disc...its back home...any other way to fix it? i guess i can have it mailed out here
You have to re-install it (make sure you completely uninstall the one you have now) as All 4 the Bay said.....you can d/l it from a p2p prog. if you want and just look for the serial.....

If you want a less stressful option you could try OpenOffice which is free (open source) and is a good alternative to MS Office..... www.openoffice.org .....the d/l is only about 75mb

Before you do that, give this a try:

Do a search on the drive which contains your MS Office directory for a file called "Normal.dot". This file is very often corrupted, and when it is such, it causes issues similar to yours. The good news is that it automatically regenerates itself when it is deleted. When you find it, rename it to "Normal.old". And then restart word.

If that doesn't work, go to start -- run -- type "word.exe /s"

That should start MS Word in safe mode. From there, if you're running 2002 or above, you can go to Help -- Detect and Repair. It can only do so much if you don't have the disk, but give it a try anyway.

Hope this helps.

Sicc, when you're in through safe mode, you should go to Help --- Detect and Repair ---- and then it should do its thing.

Also, search again for the normal.dot - but change the option to search for hidden files. It's marked hidden for whatever reason. Then change it to normal.old.
