not to be "captan bringdown" but I dont think this whole Freshmen 5 thing is going to be tech's big break. not that he doesnt completly deserve it but has any one ever hear of those other band/artists that won in the past? havnt heard of a single one
you haven't heared of KANYE WEST or LUPE FIASCO??? c'mon now! and it's definately working because at his Key Club in Hollywood recently, MTV & ROLLING STONE were in the house getting interviews and taking video....so the Alpha Dog stuff and every little piece of MTV exposure ....it's all definately working..

That is a good note about Lupe and Kanye. Both got good exposure on the MTV lower channels before taking off. Also, If everyone would at least watch the video a few times while voting, the streams count also. This will also work to our advantage on the next video which we would be able to get into the system a lot easier.
Also, with all these "sell out" haters screamin about Tech being on MTV, I really don't see any of them complaining about Atmosphere who is huge on MTVu and independent. What about Snoop? He is still Snoop and getting mad airplay with an album that has a blue rag as the cover...I guess that means Game and Nas are sell outs too...go figure.

I am currently streaming the Bout Ta' Bubble video, and I noticed on the second verse that the words kittens, heat, and Caribou are edited out. I think there's another word (or two) that are also edited in the song, but can't tell for sure.

I just hadn't known that before because I have dial-up at home and it's not possible to truely "stream" anything with that slow ass shit. But, at work I have the ability, so I figured since Strange said they need help by streaming the video, I figured I'd do my part.

This brings up an interesting thing, though...... if they edited out "Caribou" in this song, then what would that do to a potential single/video for Caribou Lou? Hmmmmmmm................. :paranoid:

It would do nothing. They edit lyrics out of music for it's content and it's meaning. If he even put out a single to Caribou Lou they would edit the name out every other time. They wouldn't edit it out completely. Plus, why the fuck would he use that song to make a single? That song's mostly fluff and if he wants to be taken seriously, he won't use a party drinking song as a single......again. He'll use something that will "broaden" his musical style for fans not familiar with him. Otherwise, he'll be perceived as a party emcee and not taken seriously. Think a little more when it comes to his career.

I am thinking... thinking of how the industry works!

Depends on whether or not Bout Ta' Bubble makes it big, my friend. If it doesn't make it all the way to MTV and become big, then he has to have another club song to get played in the clubs and to repeatedly get his name out there. Something catchy as hell and that can also be loved by the masses. I agree, there are others I would rather have as a single, but the fact remains that there is a certain way to blow up. Untill you are established, certain songs that we know should be huge, won't be given even half a chance.

Block music is where it's at in the industry now. Club music has been on a downward spiral as of right now. Caribou Lou will have little to no effect on exec's. He's got a better shot of releasing Midwest, No Can Do w/ a radio edit or even Beast than Caribou Lou. Lil' Jon and J.D. are the only ones putting out club songs as of now. The exec's may not know it yet, but club music isn't going to survive. Look at Backwudz. They put out a song that is instantaneous heat, but only gets moderate spins in the club, but htey get mad respect in the streets. That's the only way Tech will go big independantly until he sells to the highest bidder for 100 plays a week on MTV. The only way.

After hearing the album a million times through, i dont even like caribou lou that much compared to the other tracks. Alot of people I showed the song didn't like the chorus with the robot sounding lady thing.
