yo man, now that i read all these posts...Before anyone jumps the gun:
to be completely honest,
we rarely listen to other rappers stuff, I havent heard of the cat malice's track or any of his material for that matter...so uh, no disrespect, if we heard malice''s song beforehand we would of picked a different Skynard track or fucked w/ a CCR track...We always wanted to recorded version of Sweet Home Cali, and have multiple earlier versions and done it often at shows...Besides, If we heard his track prior that would have been gay to do it...If anyone knows our music or us, Our fanbase is more on the rock/country genre w/ a touch of rap side of things...Its not in our intention to deliberately copy a guy. so our apologies~
We have always been southern rock fans forever w/ country shit too, we have remakes of CCR songs from a while back...This particular track was produced by G-Roc and guitars were live in it and drums were added by another producer...Well we wanted people to hear our cut, but never could of projected it to get listens this way. The overall reason we recorded this track was in preparation for our upcoming show with Uncle Kracker...
best of luck to malice, nothing was at all intentional, we been in the game for 6 years, been through multiple distro deals, seen fools get dealt with dirty so we know the rules and that isnt our style to bite someone.

yo now that I heard malice's version, I can at least say I dig his style of music! and his interpulation of the track...righton for that...
but i dont see any comparisons really, bot are different approaches...The concept of using the song was the same, but our hook is completely different (words and the way it was sung)....our beat is completely different and made from scratch, no samples:
guitar and beat was made by G-ROC of SJ
and drums and hihats were added by DJ DEV of TN....our beat breakdowns and bridge are different, and our rap verses talk about completely different stuff.....
I am sure this isn't the only time SWEET HOME has been remade and I am sure a dozen more versions are in the works from other artists, keep listening to both tracks tho, crack open a beer.
