They are still the Patriots.
Exactly, which is WHY Bill did that.
How many come backs have we seen Brady lead?
True...but...
I know they were having difficulty Vs the Saints D, but that shows a lack of faith/confidence in your team.
Possibly. Sometimes it is what it is. NE has been the ruler of the AFC East for how many years now? Maybe he did feel that it was a lost cause and decided to give some of the other players a chance to show their stuff. Bill turned the Pats into a staple and once the playoffs get here...they are like the Yankees....they turn it on.
Starting in the second quarter you could see this defeatist attitude come out of the Patriots and it was sorry. Just looknig at Wes Welker's face he was totally copped out at that point.
He was probably frustrated becuase the secondary was locking him down?
I think the coach should be the last one to give up (or at least show it).
I agree..but Bill ALWAYS looks defeated...you shows NO expression all game...ever!
Safe? Maybe, but if you are going to take that kind of stance why play your starters at all in this game, right? I mean they could just forfit and STILL lead the AFC East by 3 games and if they beat Miami next week...4 games.
This is terrible hyperbole even for you. You are really going to sit up here and NOT understand taking out players to keep them fresh for the next game, when it is clear you aren't playing well? You watch college football, right? Blowouts happen all the time and 2nd and 3rd sting players end up playing in them EVERY WEEK. This is nothing new.
Maybe the Pats just have the attitude of "we dont care, its a loss, we will win the East again, and make a run for the SB"...maybe they are just THAT confident.
