I think that the preponderance of the users on Siccness have a misconception of Mistah F.A.B.'s lyrical aptitude. His regular use of somewhat asinine catchphrases, such as "shaboobalaboopie," definitely contribute to the tainting of his repute, and moreover, is probably the reason why 95% of Fabby Davis haters dislike him. However, for all of you that disparage F.A.B.'s musical ability, I want to recommend that you take the time and listen/buy "Son of a Pimp." Not only does this CD have classic slumpers, such as N.E.W. Oakland and Kicked Out The Club, but it has some of the hardest and deepest tracks that I have heard come out of the Bay since 2Pac passed (i.e. The Mama Song, If Papa Was Home, U R My Angel, etc.). Once you listen to his CD and move past your preconceived notion that F.A.B. is a garbage rapper who tries to popularize himself solely by using made-up words, you will realize his true skill. F.A.B. is the realist spitter in the Bay. More than Quinn. More than Clyde. More than anyone.

I agree with everything that you just said, but why in the fuck are you using those big ass academic words in a Hip Hop forum? Some of us do belong in the category of the layman and a lot of people on here are no older than 14. Instead of using phrases like, "the preponderance of the users on Siccness" why couldn't you just say the Majority of the users on Siccness? I don't know if you are trying to feign intellectualism or that infact you are a real nerd. But I do agree, F.A.B is the most talented Bay Area artist out right now, and on the contrary most people on Siccness like F.A.B, it's just that, that Shaboobalabooby shit is silly as fuck, but it shouldn't hold so much weight when critiquing his work..

As much as I like U R My Angel, I'm still not a Fabby fan.

The people will mainly know Fabby for what image he creates for himself. The image he creates for himself is a nigga who rides a yellow bus, wears a helmet, and says shit like "Shaboobaloopy." Therefore, people with any respect for intelligence will see this constant display of ignorance and Fabby's admiration of mental disabilities, and write him off as a dumb nigga. If Fabby wants people to respect him for his lyricism, start lettin people know more about it, and stop wearing helmets.

Given that we are in agreement about the central point of this thread, I'm going to stray away from the point on hand, and comment on your tangential episode. You asked me "why in the fuck" am I using "those big ass academic words in a Hip Hop forum?" The reason why I use "big ass academic words" is because more descriptive words equate to a more powerful argument. If readers do not know particular words as a result of their age, vocabulary, etc, they all have access to an online dictionary.
I don't understand how using "big ass academic words" is "[feigning] intellectualism" or how me "using big ass academic words" means that I am a "real nerd." Maybe you could better explicate your view....

you flashin on the professor for using big words but you have a black panther link in your sig. The Panthers were all about education so if you follow that credo let that man do his thing with the vocabury. Hopefully it will force some of these youngsters on siccness to pick up a dictionairy.

"Explicate", lol... smh

Nice use of quotation btw.. And the reason that I suggested that you were maybe feigning intellectualism is simply based on the fact that a lot of those words could of been replaced with more layman friendly synonyms quite easily.. Just seems a little unnesessary as I pointed out in one of my examples. In English/argumentation i'm actually taught that the main objective in getting your point across is a clear thesis, supporting evidence, and "clarity." You have to keep the readers in mind, who are you writing to? In other words, big words don't necessarily get your point across better, sometimes it just makes it ambiguous.

Naw, it's all good, I wasn't "flashing" on him. I'm simply pointing out that he has to keep his readers in mind, I hate looking up words when I'm not really in a studying mood. I feel you though, I guess some of these youngstas do need to get out of the habbit of speaking slang and broken English, I'm just more down to earth though, everyone isn't an intellectual with an above average vocab, which is a good thing.

I feel you on how much of the album was slept on. He really did deliver a complete and well put together album. But, the stuff you're saying FAB is talking about now, has already been said by Quinn. Honestly, I don't jock anyone, I'm a grown ass man, but if you put the whole thing together, delivery, spits, lyrics, style, SALES, and most importantly...LONGEVITY, FAB has some catching up to do before you compare him to QUINN. So keep the Clyde comparisons coming cause that makes more sense.

Big words do not equal a more powerful argument, that is a typical college student response. Enter the real world (business, capitalism) where if you want your point and argument to come across the being direct and concise is the most important aspect. Only use these esoteric words when it's absolutely necessary. There's also the point that using these words when they are barely needed makes you look condescending.

Can you spot the irony in this post?
