I just upgraded from Nuemann BCM 104 to Nuemann TLM 49....

the difference is amazing.

I sold my old shit for $800 to some sucker I knew and my girl at the Guitar Center plugged me for $1200 out the door on the new one. I'm a very happy camper right now. Through the Avalon 737 my shit is sounding real proper now.

You also might be able to find 2 aphex mics made in china that emulate the Nuemann U89 and a telefunken forgot the names but i heard they arent imported to the us anymore but you might be able to find them on ebay for like 200 bucks a piece
