I was at the game, and it was terrible.. They were treating the first half like practice, trying new schemes and not doing much..

They pretty much shut them down in the second half but it was too late.

I knew Applachian State wouldn't be a cakewalk just because they've won something like 20 some games in a row or something and two straight national championships, and they are ranked number 1 and that's why we scheduled them, but the team didn't come prepared to this game at all.

For some reason they felt the need to not give the ball to Hart at all to begin the second half. The backup then fumbles and gives them a field goal. Hart didn't see PT in the 2nd Half until 4 mins left in the quarter.

Also, one thing that could help Michigan, is that I don't think games against Division 1AA teams count in the computer rankings in the BCS.

Plus, the season is about the Big Ten championship, and that hasn't started. The defense played absolutely pitiful in the first half, but then played good in the second half. And Chad Henne looked awful this whole game.

dont get me wrong i love college football but it doesnt compare to the nfl. by the end of the season michigan could be the hands down best team in college football but they will never have an opportunity to show it.

when the patriots won their first super bowl they started off 5-5. that would never happen in the ncaa.

Thats not necessarily true, they could still have a chance to show it. The real arguement is that Michigan doesn't deserve to be National Champs if they are gonna lose games like this.

I mean hypotheically if Michigian, LSU and USC all win out from this point out, and Michigan looks better and has more impressive wins overall, USC and LSU still deserve to be in the National Championship because they didn't lose composure at any point in the season, and came in ready to play.

Like Fedex said, the BCS systems makes every single game matter so you don't have teams slacking off at the begining of the season.

Michigan has basically no shot at all at the title game.A victory would'nt count in the BCS,but a loss to a division2 team does.It would take at the very least,2 losses from every team in the top 20.I think Minnesota lost to a weak team aswell,so it ain't a good look for Michigan.Big 10 football aye?

However.

Robby is right that they had them on lock for the second half...so if Michigan were to run the table and other teams faltered in the right way...we could be looking at a BCS mess.

But, speculating on what the other teams would have to do/not do is way out there.

if they started ranking teams 2 to 4 weeks into the season and installed a playoff system, or at least a +1 game college football would be the best sport easily

preseason rankings are a crock of shit
