yes dog fighting is not cool, at one time in my life I thought it was alright. But as I grew, I realized dog fighting is gay as fuck. Dogs may not be humans, but they do have feelings and can think like a human to a certain extent...
I'm still in the search for a German Shepherd, I got the chance to chill with a German Shepherd for about a week at my house and let me tell you, those fucking dogs are smart as fuck and very loyal. I Can't wait to get my own though...
As far as dogs being compared as kids, no they're not kids. But a dog does become part of a family and gets the same love as well...

look. if i was in a fire im big enough to grab both my dogs and get out. youd melt in a fire. you couldnt even physically pick up my two dogs to get them to safety. youd have to get out and leave your dogs to die because physically that is your only option. you gotta kinda hope your dogs are smart enough right. so me and you in a situation of physical harm due to a fire shouldnt even really be talked about.
