i know what ya sayin. i know it wouldnt be ground breaking. but i wanna here some shit other than ur normal gang shit.

but to call it meaningless i disagree. im just thinking it would open up newer aveniuse for artist to be exposed without worrying about were your at as long as gente is feeling u.

and i know everyone has tiesfrom family shit thats reality that cannot be avoided. i just think it would be good to showcase different talent from all over.
i got a norte homie who raps that did sum shit wit sum dude from san diego and it was all good cuzz the sd cat dont bang. i thought when i heard that it was a good idea. cuzz if he dont bang it dont pretain.

just an idea i thought of to provoke insightful convo yadidadig?

Yeah Cypress Hill are bloods...sen dog and mellow man ace arent even mexican so im not sure how they get the sureno tag...they didnt start being "eses" until shit went down with Cube and them and they wanted support from the mexican fanbase in LA...I met those dudes when I was in high school they were friends with my spanish teacher and yeah they are/were representin for bloods

Just look at "Lighter Shade of Brown", ODM and DTTX got down. I know LSOB is consider more oldschool to this day, but that $hit was SICK.



Anyways, if your Mexican and your rapping and you DON'T bang Sur or Norte or whatever, then your gonna catch hate or criticism towards your style. For example, my cousin Raps and he don't bang, but he can get criticised for sounding EastCoast underground type style. I think he sounds sick, but that's just the style he prefers and tone of voice, more intellectual type of rapper like a lot of the East coast & underground heads.

Look at "Guzzle" from San Diego also, I don't think he bangs judging by his style because he doesn't sound like a cholo, just reps the southern SD & OTAY I believe, but even in one of his mix-tapes he says he gets criticism for sounding eastcoast. So either way, your going to catch some hate whether you bang or not and your in the rap game.

Lighter Shade of Brown is probably the best example though of being neutral, it just works and sounds good IMO.



Or....

You can always become a Hyphy style rapper. hahahaha

of course it's possible, because it's been done before. mr. shadow has done tracks with baby bash and don cisco, both bay area natives. i don't really hear of sureno rappers trippin on nortenos but i have heard of it the other way around. black rappers trip on eachother too, coast to coast or north vs. south or colors. it's just the fact that latino artists are underground and not mainstream. oh yeah, and for those that want to know, cypress hill bang 13 on temples of boom and their biggest audience is in northern cali. point blank, if the music is good, people will buy it and raza can unite and take back the piece of hip hop that belongs to us.
