they say nyc used to be grimy as fuck not too long ago...drugs and serious violence was blatant and everywhere. now its a completely different city than it was 20 years ago. apparently when guliani cleaned up there were literally drug raids on every block and he was merciless with crime. but this is a completely different situation than mexico

anyone know of examples of countries that suffered from similar corruption and violent crimes and were able to clean it up?

there is no good short term soloution, legalize drugs they will find something else.

send in the marines? bodies, bodies everywhere.

The long term soloution is to help make life better in mexico so people don't want to leave.

of course any solution would have to be long term...and of course it would consist of making life better in mexico

the question is what plans of attack would need to start being made now to set the stage for such positive change to start unfolding? and how much would it have to involve the US?

It would probably have to involve as many nations as possible. Start by creating new jobs and everyone chipping in and giving their goverment aid.
