Oh no, I won't be able to retire at 50 with a full pension! How unfair! This is all the rich peoples' fault. They're the ones that turned our country into a welfare state. They're the ones that elected a socialist leader. Yeah, punish the rich. I know they're the ones who funded our lifestyle for so many years but it's still their fault for not making more money and giving it to us.
Seems like you don't know what has been going on in Greece. A lot of corruption. The rich have been stealing money from the people for decades...

Ok, I still don't think this is relevant today. And I don't see the point you're making by bringing this up. So what if Germany was bailed out 60 years ago. Greece is in trouble right now because of their own current problems.
You pretty much claimed Germany got out of the bad situation they were in because of their superior management. When this is not the case, they were bailed out by many Nations and on far better terms than what Greece is being offered. Greece was one of those Nations that helped bail Germany out. How is this not relevant?

True but a sensible people should've been able to see through the lies. They took the bait too easily. They saw what was being promised to them and put themselves ahead of the fate of the country by accepting policies that could not be sustained
We are powerless when we go up against corporations who want investments and profits protected. We don't have the endless pockets they do to buy and sell people to push their agenda, when the people they use as puppets are supposed to represent us.

The Greeks were lied to and manipulated.

Disproportionate tax rates and benefit distribution.
Proportionate to what they earned. Now what about those earning less? It is far worse for lower income earners. Being able to provide food for your family is of far greater importance than having seven cars. In my opinion.

This argument implies that all public sector jobs are necessary, productive, and are worthy of their compensation. That's definitely not the case. Also, since you brought them up, I bet the homeless would like very much to receive the new lower minimum wage over what they're getting now.
Regardless, that's 15,000 jobs.

True but in disproportionate amounts. And the poor likely receive the bulk of government assistance. And the poor/middle class aren't the job creators. They are the workers who are employed by the rich.
Because they are poor, it will have a bigger impact on their lives.

Both the shipping and tourism industries make up the bulk of the Greek economy. They need new jobs being created outside those, such as manufacturing or any other job sector, to help maintain the economy. They need to find a way to help grow their exports.

Just cutting jobs and making the poor suffer, is reckless. This won't help them in the long run.

Maybe you should take your own advice and do some research on how Greek workers are compensated. They're min wage is similar to ours in most parts of the country but they offer much better guaranteed benefits. You understand how pensions work right? It's different than a retirement plan. You understand that all Greeks get free healthcare too right? It's these kinds of benefits that Greece couldn't afford. And now they're having to deal with the pitfalls of living outside their means. The Greeks basically chose to implement policies to make a certain standard of living guaranteed without regard to merit and without regard for who would cover the cost. Now the rich can't pay the bill anymore.

So in that way, yes, I think it's the peoples' fault for letting that system develop. I partly blame the government for being so irresponsible to lead the people to believe that it would work out. They lied to the people but the people were so happy to get all of those entitlements that they didn't bother to figure out that they were being played.
You dont need research when its obvious those people got blindsided by corruption greece, france, germany it dont matter where it happens the people wont stand to take the blame specially the younger generation that was just born yesterday. Imo nobody should stand for that shit and that shit should be stopped from spreading.

They postponed the bailout meeting, and people are making comments for debt holders to postpone the 130 billion euro debt payment due March 20th.

Greece bonds are about to be worth shit. You think some citizens rioting is a big deal?
Watch what happens to the entire country if they go into default.
