Man I usually dot like Floyd just for his asshole personality. But I do want Floyd to win this fight. IMO Floyd is going to make Ghost look like a fool. Even tho Floyd is getting older he is a totally higher Caliber than most fighters tody.

It means something when you're comparing those two fighters to each other. Are they fighting Tyson? Are they fighting Calzaghe or Pac? No, so it's crazy to say "this guy can't knock him out" when his ratio is there AND he has ko's in the weight class they're fighting at.
KO ratio, over an entire career, means little. Floyd has ONE real KO since 2005, thats 8 years. Ricky Hatton. We all know the Ortiz KO was a sucker punch (that Ortiz deserved 100%) and isn't a testament to Floyd's power.

Bernard Hopkins at middleweight had great power but he hasn't KOd anyone in 9 years! So what matters is recent fights, not entire career, when talking about KO power.

Like I said neither Floyd nor Guerrero are big punchers. Maybe Floyd stops Guerrero because he's schooling his ass or his corner throws in the towel but its unlikely we'll see some kind of one.punch KO from either man as they just aren't heavy hitters like that.

Ok, let's look at Berto's face and consider why his face was like that at the end of the fight. Was it because Guerrero was some great puncher or the fact that Berto went in using a style of defense he normally doesn't use and is basically ripe for a southpaw? And lets not forget Ghost was fighting dirty throughout the fight.
His face was Chinese because he got punched in the face a lot. Lol simple as that.

I also completely disagree that Robert fought dirty. He fought rough and physical but not dirty. Berto was doing most all the holding.

I didn't see that fight but I saw a brief clip and Guerrero looked like he was holding and hitting. Maybe I'll check that fight out tonight, should be on demand or something.

Obviously he ate some punches but Berto swelled against Ortiz too. He hadn't been in a tough fight before Ortiz. Maybe he's a guy that swells easily and my guess is that he's a guy that rehydrates a lot of weight back on overnight which can make some guys swell a lot more. People are taking Berto's eyes in that fight as if it's a guarantee that Guerrero is some huge puncher at 147. He's a respectable puncher and had a good ko streak at 126lbs but that was quite awhile ago.

main thing was the holding with the right hand and punching to the face with the left. A lot of fighters do this until they can't get away with it when the refs stop them. But that should be the only reason people are saying he fought dirty.

Thing is if you watch closely it was Berto who was holding Guerrero's right arm. What is PERFECTLY legal in boxing is to punch with your free hand like Guerrero did.

that was more obvious on the first than the 2nd knockdown with Berto holding on. Either way, I don't really care lol I was glad he won.

Nothing was worse than when Froch landed like 1800 power shots to the back of Dirrells head though. That was so blatant and ref never stopped it.

anyone else agree that everyone has a silly gameplan against Floyd? Obviously they've all lost but everyone goes in there like they need to knock him out. What they need to do is win freakin rounds!!! I always go back to this but a lot of people thought Margarito would beat him in his prime because of his volume and aggression. I think Robert could pull that off and win rounds but I keep thinking that he's thinking he can go in there and knock him out.

For the Guerrero fight, Mayweather struggled in training camp. This week, he sported slight swelling under both eyes. "He started late in camp – really late,'' a person familiar with the camp told USA TODAY Sport. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because he is unauthorized to speak on the fighter's behalf. "His sparring was brutal. He had a really tough camp."

I worry about a fighter getting two black eyes when you have head gear on and you a sparring with 12 oz gloves (pillows)...hopefully Floyd comes in 100%...this may be the reason he was going to the gym 3 times in one day. can 't wait to see who gets beat and how their egos will manage that realization when it comes...great entertainment. Guerrero is a good promoter of himself...I think on that note Mayweather chose the right fighter other than Canelo Alvarez.

a lot of times sparring will be with 16oz gloves actually. 12 oz gloves will still hurt plenty. Anyone know if they are using 8 or 10oz gloves for the fight?

Yeah he got hit but you gotta look at why. He was fighting in a style he wasn't used to. That left him open to punches. Then you gotta look at that style of defense and how a southpaw can take advantage of it.

And he was hitting after the bell, thumbing Berto, holding him and not fighting like a true champ.

I don't even know what that's supposed to mean - not fighting like a true champ. Weird thing to say. It's Berto's fault for not knowing how to deal with a physical fighter. He fought like the gatekeeper that he is.

True champs don't rough people up? Watch Jack Johnson, a young Hopkins, even Floyd has his tactics.

You know what the hell it means. It means getting in there and using your skills, not some underhanded tactics and blatant disregard for the rules to win a fight.

It's Berto's fault for not knowing how to deal with a physical fighter. He fought like the gatekeeper that he is.
Look, you aren't going to get me to disagree that he isn't a gatekeeper. He is, but it wasn't just a matter of the guy not handling a physical fighter. If you're using a style you NEVER used before, and that style is basically WEAK against a southpaw/unorthodox stance, you're asking for trouble.

True champs don't rough people up? Watch Jack Johnson, a young Hopkins, even Floyd has his tactics.
There is a difference between roughing someone up and fighting dirty. Get physical, get rough, but don't fight dirty. Don't lead with your fuckin head, don't try to thumb a guy in the eye, don't keep hitting below the belt and don't keep clocking him after the bell rings (over multiple rounds.)

You know the rules of the game man, you know when a fighter is going over and beyond what is called for.
