After everything that's been said in the last couple pages, am I wrong or does Cotto stand to make more money vs. Canelo than against Floyd? I think it's just as big of a fight personally and Cotto would undoubtedly get more of a share than he would against Mayweather

Exactly, and this is the problem and really the whole issue that 2-0-Sixx brought up forever ago. Is this just a novelty lineal MW title now? Is it all for show? I have a feeling that Cotto is going to lean on the attitude of "I'm a small MW, I shouldn't really have to fight true MW's."

I have honestly never thought that he wanted to fight Canelo. Getting beat down by another Mexican will be damaging to his career IMO. I damn sure don't believe that he wants a piece of GGG.

Canelo is the only one that I believe that would willingly fight GGG at 160 if he were to fight and beat Cotto. If Cotto doesn't fight real middleweights, his lineal title is a total sham like Pacquiao's title at 154.
Which is why I want Canelo to beat Cotto. I know he's man enough to fight GGG. For The sake of the lineal title, this need a to happen.

And I don't want to hear that "GGG should fight Andre Ward" bullshit. If Ward REALLY wanted to fight GGG you know what he would be doing? Fighting. GGG has a LEGIT reason to fight ANYONE with the MW title. Floyd, Pac, Sergio, Cotto, Thurman, Qullin, Zewski, doesn't matter. If you have that MW belt you are fair game.
Yeah Ward fans, little that he has left, have no room to talk here. Dude has been out for over a year and says when he does return he wants not one but TWO tune up fights. And he wants to get paid well for those two tune ups so Ward is completely irrelevant until he's "ready" himself.

Dogg... You were saying that GGG should fight Ward, and why does Floyd have to fight GGG and GGG should move up to fight Ward instead. That wasn't that long ago.
I said GGG says he will fight anyone and if thats the case than Ward is calling him out so he should fight Ward. I already stated why Floyd doesnt have to fight GGG. Big differences. Got Em!!

More money against Canelo if they fight in May.

Of course I haven't seen any contracts, but just knowing Floyd's minimum purse is so high his opponents are only taking a tiny fraction. Canelo and Golden Boy I'm betting are willing togive Cotto equal pay if not the lions share.

If Floyd fights for that MW belt and wins it then he is fair game.

Ward called out GGG. Stevenson and Kovalev called out Ward over ten times each. Crickets.

If Ward really wanted to fight GGG, Ward would be doing what? Fighting!

According to Cotto's adviser the only thing holding things up is "the other 50%" which he says is "money." He said they can fight in April, May or June and that the date is important to Canelo, and he understands where Canelo is coming from, so that isn't an issue for them.

Cotto getting $40 million fighting Floyd is obviously complete bullshit by the way. In order for that to happen Floyd wouldn't make any money himself. Let's just say for sale of argument it did even better than the first fight, it did 1.5 million buys. Floyd's minimum purse is what, 32 million or some crazy shit like that? So the total purse would be $72 million? Lol. $10 million at best for Cotto.

“Of course, I can address that. No, the information is false. We did not get offered $40 million to fight Floyd, said Cotto’s personal adviser Gaby Penagaricano to RingTV.com."

There's a Mexican fighting in all those fights breh, that's my point! Those dates are for Mexicans to fight...if Floyd fights anyone besides manny on those dates and it goes head to head vs a canelo fight, he will lose. Simple as that.
Mayweather has more Mexican PPV purchasers than Canelo and Cotto combined. Bottom line...Floyd is fighting on May 2nd and Canelo will have to kick rocks.

Maybe if you give us a breakdown of the revenue Cotto would get off your projected PPV sales from fighting Canelo and the projection on a Mayweather fight...we could tell you if your wrong?

Again, look at undercards and also look at the number of PPV he has headlined vs the number they have headlined. You're not making a sound argument, here.

Unless you break down "they" and "he" by the numbers...and what "undercards" your talking about...the end result is. Mayweather on the month of May and September is a part of Mexican culture...the numbers don't lie.

*In addition...just using your logic to prove my point: by saying Mayweather has an advantage with "stacked" undercards and being a headliner multiple times compared to Canelo and Cotto further solidifies why he will be fighting on May 2nd...he is a proven commodity with a solid structure...the KING.
