If you hash-tag something it tags the word for searches, and trends on sites like tumblr and twitter. So if on those sites you type #tiddies, and someone in searches for the keyword tiddies, your tweets, or tumbles will show up.

Or if million of people #tiddies, it will show up as a trending topic, meaning lots of people are talking about tiddies.
